Hmmm, looks like most of the feedback are about strong in Chinese. How about other subject?

I realised that many vacancies left in Phase 2C for Xingnan for year 2010 and also past years, no balloting.
      Wonder why not so popular.

I am considering XN too and wondering if I should do PV. But realise that XN has vacancy even in pahse 2CS, so actually no need PV also can get into the school.

The new principal seems put a lot of effort on academy. My son is in P5,They have a lot of after class enrichment. My son has attened English debating, Science Olympic, and Creative Math. They also have math Olympic, teachers from Math hub and Science hub. My son love the class, I think cos he is with his friends. I have sent him to Math hub one sem, but he did not like it. School subsidised price is much cheaper and can pay by education fund.

              Hi Parents,

My son got registered for P1 (2011) in Xingnan. Although I am within 1 km to WG i don't want to take a chance. If in case i won't get through balloting then i will lose the chance of entering Xingnan. Thats why I went directly to xingnan and registered.

I like to know more about the school. I like to know whether is there any streaming in p1 itself in this school.I know that xingnan is very famous for its chinese program. How is English and maths teaching there. Also I like to know is there homework given everyday?

I heared from my friend that in WG they will train the students by giving lot of worksheets and make them to study. So from the parents side not much effort is needed.Thats why it is so popular. However in other schools as a parent we need to put lot of efforts to give them enrichments ...Is it true?

              :thankyou:

i am really lucky since I stay among the more matured part of Jurong west estate where XNPS is spared the risk of balloting. We got ourself a place in xingnan. XNPS has always been my choice eventhough both XNPS & WG are within 1KM. I know my chance to WG was almost zero as there are so many newer flats around WG. The estate are made up of young parents. Competition will be very stiff. FP came in to ease the crowd at WG. No doubt academic excellence is a impt, convenience is another priority. You can also clearly see that since both school require balloting within 1KM. With more upcoming pte housing among Jurong West, i guess a new pri school is a must. Parents may also want to consider school that has low take in rate now. Parents play a a big role in the child education, if there are great parent support & participation in school, i believe it will somehow mould the school & uplift its image & motivate excellence.

                  Hi,

Any mommy would like to share with us more about the school?
My DD will be P1 (2011):) My impression of the school is quite a β€˜old’ looking compare to other school. The students are very well behave and the teachers quite friendly! Heard that they build a very good relationship and communicate well with parents?

I heard that they focus a lot on Chinese and the students can score high mark for it. Wonder how is the english and maths standard. Hope their new principal will focus more in maths and English too.
