Merkon, I was in your shoes 2 years ago watching & hearing from friends about the excitement of P1 registration, now that I am in the soup no longer exciting! It's really stressful & getting more difficult!

It will get more stressful and unpredictable in the next many years. So many PRs and now information distribution is getting so efficient

I am hoping for more advantage for singapore citizens when it comes for registering. no point having extra ballot slip if don't even have a chance to ballot at all! PRs can move close to the schools they want but citizens need to think about staying near parents/in-laws, etc ... maybe add 1 Km to the address of PRs when they register instead of giving citizens 2 ballot slips so those citizens within 1km would increase chances of getting in without going through a ballot. just a thought ... don't stone me...

I like this idea. Hopefully Heng Swee Keat is reading this thread

Breakdown at SJIJ at the end of day 1 of P2C (50 vacancies):

            <1km : 29 applicants
            1-2km : 26 applicants
            Ballot for 1-2km again
Thanks DW for the info! :thankyou:

The numbers as of the end of day 2:
            <1km : 34 applicants
            1-2km : 30 applicants

Seems like ACSJ going to ballot for <1km. Possible some of those who applied there for 1-2km may come over to SJIJ?

            The numbers have changed again...
            <1km : 42 applicants
            1-2km : 34 applicants
Will there be 8 or more <1km applicants showing up this afternoon? :xedfingers:

Don’t follow the crowd and choose a school because it’s an top/elite school, choose the school because you know the environment will allow your child to thrive - you know your child best. Visit the school if possible, ask around, observe their students, understand their curriculum and CCA etc… and most importantly after you have decide upon one, don’t waiver just because you read somewhere on this forum so and so thinks this is bad and that is good…

All the best to worried parents out there, i know how it feels…

Acsj is at least 71 registered, a sure ballot case even within 1km. Dunno how many more Wil turn up this afternoon 😞

Sjij no balloting within 1km, based on the figures
                  Above.

Saw Straits Times this morning on SCGS. This will be advertising for the school. I would expect the no. to exceed yesterday results.

Feel sorry for the 1 parent (>2km) who registered.
