      chloecube:
      hi all,

i need some expert help on these 2 sums :thankyou:

      1) A number is a multiple of 3. It is between 10 and 40. It is also a factor of 45. What is the number?

      is the answer : 15?

      2) There are 943 apples in Box X and Box Y. There are 785 apples in Box Y and Box Z. How many apples are there in Box X than in Box Z?
      Hi

      1) yes.

      2)
      [Box Y][**Box X**] = 943
      [Box Y][*Box Z*] = 785
      So [**Box X**] - [*Box Z*] = 943 - 785 = 158
There were 158 more apples in Box X than in Box Z.

      cheers.

              Hi

              [mass of truck][1/2 load] = 1762 kg
              [mass of truck][1/4 load] = 1426 kg
              so, [1/4 load] = 1762 -1426 = 336 kg,

              [mass of truck][full load] = [mass of truck][1/2 load] + [1/2 load] = 1762 + 336 x 2 = 2434 kg

Mass of truck with full load of newspapers = 2434 kg

              cheers.

                  Pls help:

There were 420 more marbles in box A than box B. When 150 marbles was transferred from box B to box A. There were 4 times as many marbles in box A as box B.
                  a) How many marbles are there in box B now?
                  b) How many marbles were there in box A at first?

                  TIA.

i met with another difficult sum :scratchhead:

3 similar rings and 2 similar chains cost $1200
2 similar rings and 1 similar chain cost $750

                      2 rings + 1 chain = $750
                      4 rings + 2 chains = $1500
                      3 rings + 2 chains = $1200 (given)
                      1 ring = $1500 - $1200 = $300
