Jav:
      Updates:

      ACSP - 29 for 24 slots. Balloting within 1km
      SJIJ - 53 for 51 slots. Balloting within 1km
      ACSJ - 76 for 63 slots. Balloting within 1km
Basically lots of parents movement between SJIJ & ACSJ in the last hour.
Could be near to both so doing final decision and dash after assessing odds

As Sji Junior vacancy is 51 and 53 applied under 1 km, will there be any balloting or will the school absorb the 2 additional students

Final figures for SCGS : Exactly 43 applicants (within 1km) for 43 vacancies, so no balloting needed. All applicants outside of 1km are unsuccessful.

MOE site says 51 for 43 places for SCGS.

Yes 51 for 43 places = 8 are outside 1km, so no chance. There are exactly 43 within 1km, all got in, no balloting needed. That is the final figure given by SCGS. Apparently there were many withdrawals from the 'beyond 2km' group at the last minute cuz they knew they stood no chance.

I wonder why the 8 outside 2km didn't quickly run to another school.

ST didn’t say much about SCGS, just mentioned that a mother is considering the school since there are still places after Thurs.

SCGS is just like any other schools in the Bt Timah belt, the proportion of students from wealthier families may be higher but that doesn’t mean it’s an ‘artas’ school. Every school in Singapore has its black sheep, even neighbourhood schools.
Hi Jimtay

You were at the registration centre until 430pm?

                      what was the final number?

Sorry Lexy, I called the school. Hope I can check the numbers when I go there later...

                      are you in <1km?
                      🙏 :xedfingers: 🙏 :xedfingers:

                      All the best.
No lah, I am just a busybody... studying and concerned about the trend of balloting at P2C at the 3 boy schools near the Novena/Newton region. This year all 3 balloting <1km. Is there something wrong with the air or water in that area that in 2005 there were a spike of newborn males? Then I read the post by laughingcat (@ the Central Primary school thread) and eureka! Now I understand why...

I feel sorry for celes7... 4:15pm ytd received call fr sch to pull out. Where got time to de-register n re-register at another school? (@ SJIJ Parents' Networking group thread)

As of now, there is no announcement from the school. Possibility will be slim as last year RGPS was in the same situation as well, extra 2 applicants and the school conducted balloting but at the end the 2 unsuccesful were put on waiting list & got in as well.
