Did you use to study in a JC along Bt Timah? The old address of the JC is now occupied by a girls' school. -

#1 joined this school in P4. A neighbour whose dd joined at P1 told me the old principal was very caring, but the overall sch results under her charge was not so glorious. Another casual friend complained some teachers not doing a good job. Both were hoping the new principal would mean improvement in teaching attitudes of these types of teachers.Hi,
I stay within 1km of PH. DS will be in P1 in 2012. Quite concern that we will need to ballot comes his time. Did not volunteer for PV cos of my working schedule.
Heard that the school has a new principal and it's quite a stressed environment. Any parents can share regarding this?
So far, my children have very responsible teachers. The elder one is in the top class, so the teachers' expectations are higher (according to #1). I do not know of any other children in the same level but different classes, so I cannot comment on whether there is a different amt of workload. Last year #1 complained there was so much work and the FT confirmed that P5 was the most hectic year and P6 pace would slow down a bit. True enough, semester 1 was less hectic than P5 days. Semester 2 seems ok too.
#2 scored low end of Band 1 in his P1 subjects w/o much guidance from me. Turned out there are many very smart children in the same level, so #2 is sent to the 5th class in P2 level. I don't think the environment is stressful (or stress is caused by the school). It's really up to the parents.

No lah! Saw a user by the name of \"Jennifer\" in this forum. Went in to check your profile and wanted to confirm it was you. Noticed that you have been active in this thread, and so, trying my luck.
My son just got in to Radin Mas and will be in P1 next year. His childcare centre is arranging a field trip to Pei Hwa next month. -

You need to find out which floor your daughter's classroom will be at. Its no joke carrying the trolley bag up to 3rd/4th/5th floor. Btw, their hall is at level 4. Every day, upon arrival, they are suppose to assemble there. -
hm....no need trolley bag. There r lockers outside the classrooms, the pupils can use to keep their books. Very inconvenient to use trolley bags as the children need to climb 4 stories to the Hall everyday. And, u shld see how the kids treat their trolley bags in sch ....tsk tsk tsk!! They will just drag the poor bags behind them as they chiong down the stairs. Sometimes they forgot to zip their bags, u can imagine the rest of the story by yrself

My dd is in P1 now and my advice to all the parents whose kids are going to Pei Hwa next year, please go early to buy the books and uniform cos' their bookshop is really bad. You can wait in the queue for more than an hour and still you can't get everything. Last year, they gave us the list of stationery and books to buy as well as the dates that we could get it before orientation, so do it beforehand. It is a diaster to do it on orientation day itself. My son has gotten a place in Phase 2B.

By the way, any parents have any advice on what to expect during orientation on 20th Nov 09? Are we going to buy books and school uniform that day?
Thanks.
Good luck.
