[Jurong West] Primary Schools

and whatβs more, i am not promoting any school, as i said, just curious

and in fact as i pass by JWPS for nearly 12 years since I moved to this area around 1999, when most of the HDB flats here were not fully sold, i observed the traffic near this school getting heavier and heavier, especially the recent years it can be described as "terrible". I believe it must be around the dismissal time at 6pm-6:30pm, there are lots of cars illegally parked along the road side and lots of ppl do not use pedestrian to cross the road. Seems the new school will face the same problem i bet. -

it's a problem not just for JWPS. for any school in Sg if there is no bay or drop off point, or if the roads are just too small but there's a lot of other traffic, there'll always be a jam.and what's more, i am not promoting any school, as i said, just curious

i used to pass by Bt Timah and Dunearn stretch of Rd everyday to go to work too. And the school start and dismissal times are always a nightmare for us. Especially if it is raining, the car queue from RGPS and NJC combined will stretch from far inside Linden Dr to outside along Bt Timah Rd, jamming all those who want to keep left to turn into Adam Rd. Residents of Watten Estate always curse and swear when they need to come out.
SCGS, ACS down the way nearer to Newton Circus also very bad.
The other side at MGS, HCI, NYPS, is the same thing. And I use that to go home everyday too.
At Kings Rd where NYPS is, they even restrict traffic from entering during school dismissal so people like me and my colleagues who are going to eat lunch have to make big detours.
At least at JWPS or Frontier, they don't close the roads to public during those times, so I'll just bear with it. Most probably I will walk to school with ds (IF i get in after balloting!), only if it's raining then I'll use the car.

If Iβm not wrong as under phrase 2B should be 35 and now is 33 and phrase 2C become 113 instead of 111!

Hey kabby I think it will be fine both ways.. if u get in FPS then just nearby if not then CPS which will have both ur kids together... so just think positively
3 of them back up plan would be CPS, one of them Xingnan. think all 5 of us should try to think positively.

i am really lucky since I stay among the more matured part of Jurong west estate where XNPS is spared the risk of balloting. We got ourself a place in xingnan. XNPS has always been my choice eventhough both XNPS & WG are within 1KM. I know my chance to WG was almost zero as there are so many newer flats around WG. The estate are made up of young parents. Competition will be very stiff. FP came in to ease the crowd at WG. No doubt academic excellence is a impt, convenience is another priority. You can also clearly see that since both school require balloting within 1KM. With more upcoming pte housing among Jurong West, i guess a new pri school is a must. Parents may also want to consider school that has low take in rate now. Parents play a a big role in the child education, if there are great parent support & participation in school, i believe it will somehow mould the school & uplift its image & motivate excellence.
