Don't think there are insufficient teachers as there are enough vacancies for all the children. The problem, as pointed out, is a misallocation of these vacancies to schools which are not popular. The teachers at these unpopular schools, given thoughtful planning, may be re-allocated to the schools which are overscribed.
The challenge is that there is not enough teachers, eg my dd at MGS, has 40 students to 1 class, and not enough teachers. I spoke to some ex-teachers, and they felt the policies and bureacracy these days in schools and all this measurements/ranking leads to unnecessary overhead instead of focusing on the kids development and potential. Every child is unique, and has potential to excel in their passion.

Hi, does anyone know how many PR vs Sporean for P2C <1km at RGPS? Thanks.
-
Think normally schools will not disclose the ratio between SGP and PRs.
As for RGPS, i was at the registration on 2nd day. The one in front of me is already a PR. While on the last day, think the last on that register looks like a PR too.
So gathering for the few posts earlier, think there will be quite some PRs in balloting this coming Friday.
But if anyone has any insight on the ratio in RGPS, plse share. -
ASAP:
3 yrs back, 1 popular school in bukit batok had short fall of 2(or3) vacancies in Phase 2C. no exceptions too; still need to ballot.
ie , Nanyang Pri Sch short fall of 23 vacancies ( 53 children within 1km ballot for 30 places). My dear Minister, please allocate 1 teacher from this not popular school to Nanyang Pri School to create one extra class of 23 student.
This list go on and on for all the Primary Schools that need to ballot within 1km.

From MOE site:
The Best Practice Award (BPA) recognises schools for their effective practices and systems that lead to good education outcomes in both academic and non-academic areas. There are 4 categories for the BPA: Organisational Effectiveness, Student All-Round Development, Staff Well-Being, and Teaching and Learning. -
