I wonder if this poll is a spillover from the vigor from the P1 registration debate that has been raging on whole week. I know what I want from policy makers. I also know that human beings respond to incentives instinctively - and policy makers are human beings. This is my biggest worry.

Mark, you know I do battle on more than 1 issue at a time on KSP

Policy makers do respond to incentives, but I guess their incentives are more broad based and long term, as opposed to the more narrow and immediate ones that confront us on a day to day basis.

Is foreign aid a good use of national funds?

              cwc, kiddo, musings,

thanks for your comments. It is worrisome, Singapore seems to be traversing that same arc of development->complacency->decline that describes many nation states, except on an accelerated timeline!

Problem is, if we go bankrupt, we are basically done for, we won't rise from the ashes like China.
Ha ha....3boys, you & my DH said the same stuff just using different wordings. Frankly, I am concerned with the big waves of negative vibes against the government/policy makers. To me, I still believe that the majority are enjoying the fruits and benefits, we just need to be more contented. It's important to 'fight' for the lesser-off first, but later for the 'have-enough-but-i-want-more'.

Completely agree. I feel particularly miffed when the latter 'Have-enough' group hijacks the agenda of the 'lesser-off, grandma in JB home' group to further their own efforts in gouging more from the g'ment. Aid needs to be focused, not diluted.

I find it a little troubling & worrying cos there seems to be too much of \"me, I, mine, I want, I am entitled, not enough - I want more\". Think the real people who really need more help are really the lower income people.......
                  :celebrate: :celebrate:

I am with you on this...definitely. šŸ˜„ Wish more people feel the same.....including the MPs and especially the policy makers. :xedfingers:

as I have mentioned several times, I do not ask anything for myself from any policies, but the truly needy really require more assistance. :imdrowning: :imdrowning:

I just want Freedom of Speech and Free Press to start with. Not a state-controlled media like we have now.

Two very simple things for a start. šŸ•ŗ
