But I've heard so much negative feedback about PT including the kids' rowdy behavior. Have not seen it personally though. 😉

Sorry to hear that, keep a positive mind about it. For now regroup, look forward, assess your next move. See some previous post today, very good posts by some here. Feel free to ask, I am sure some will be some help here. Good luck and all the best

Rosyth is a popular school in that area and yearly ballot success rate is about 60%, so there are (40%) lots of other parents like you who are disappointed as well. Don't dwell in that too much and let's move on to consider carefully about your P2C Supp choices.

Within Serangoon, there is only Zhonghua but the vacancies is 122 (quite high). Alternatively, you may want to consider schools in the Hougang area. Note that even if you are outside 1km, as long as the school has enough vacancies, there is no need for balloting.

All the best in your P2C Supp.

I still cant accept that we have to ballot and vie with PRs when we are NATIVE SINGAPOREANS!!! ARRRRRRRRGGGGGGG!!! What THE — !!!

Although we have 2 slips compared to them 1 slip, I still feel that why should we even have to ballot with them in the 1st place??? Puzzled??? Disappointed!!! Frustrated!!!
Why are we not given the priority!!! Tell ME!!!

to parents who were unsuccessful in the balloting, the road of primary school education has just started. on and off, you will feel the disappointment creeping back and wonder how life would be if you have succeeded in the balloting especially when the school is just ‘downstairs’ from your house. however, you should be console as you had already done what you can by giving what you hope for, a shot. primary school life and experiences belong to our children, and while we can try what we tried, it is after all their life to live.

for phase2csupp strategy, my suggestions are,
                        1. try to go for schools within 1km. the least, you get to ballot if it is oversubscribed.
                        2. do bear in mind that MOE will do the arrangement for those unsuccessful in phase2csupp balloting. if it is true that MOE will post to the nearest available school (any one can confirm??), look at the most ‘unpopular’ schools that are nearest to you. are you able to accept it/them? if yes, you may want to try your preferred 2nd choice school that has few vacancies left and subject yourself to balloting again (if your heart can take it). if you are unable to accept being posted to ‘unpopular’ schools, opt for a safer preferred 3rd choice school with more vacancies. bear in mind distance too…because in my opinion, every other schools that are not first preferred school ie schools with vacancies left at this stage, tends to be on par with one another and while you cannot possibly accurately gauge the teaching quality, one thing you can control is the distance your kid get to travel to and fro school each and every day.

it will be tougher for parents who do not have any more schools that is within 1km, so this group of parents may want to opt for schools with more vacancies.

                        good luck to all.
