I'm crossing my fingers thar nothing will change as well. I never knew how stressful this is until now.

I have a problem though. I am an old girl from rosyth but I have studied there from P3 to P6 instead of from P1. Does that mean I don't qualify for 2A2?

Even if you went to 6 different schools and you have kept your report books from these 6 different schools, you can register under P2A in any of the 6 schools provided you produce that school's report book as evidence

 are you going to plan ahead for your child and send him\\her to 6 different schools all over Singapore? :siam: 😉
Well if your kid gets selected for GEP, then two schools already. 😄

That’s fast! Yup, my child will be registering for P1 in 2013. Quite scary this year… Anyone knows why so many schools need to ballot this year? Is it due to lower intake per school due to transition to single session?

              hi zoolet,

since yr child entering P1 2013, should be quite safe.

don't think government making any changes to Phase 2A, 2B, 2C so soon (since PAP just recently won the election). One year down the road - coming July 2012 is quite fast.

if election come round the corner 4 or 5 yrs later, normally during that time to garner more votes to win people's heart, there could / might be changes introduced to MOE P1 registration process. More likely to be affected are those kids registering for Primary 1 2015, or 2016.

so you are quite safe. The earlier your child enter P1, safer ! (Ye Chang Meng Duo)
If govt is going to introduce any changes, definitely there will be a group who will be unhappy and another group will rejoice. Hard to please everyone, but I hope the change (if any) will not affect the local to lose the chance instead. Or at least, the change will not take effect until much later since it will be really unfair to those who have relied on existing policies to plan for next year registration.

The only change I hope for is to abolish the use of rental address. They should only allow genuine rental to use the address. That means the rental does not own any other apartment. They should state that the addressees must stay at the address for at least one year. It is crazy for parents to send their kids to school that is far from their home. Don’t parents know that to have good concentration power a good night rest is needed? Why stress the child on such extreme? Read from this forum. I can’t believe parents make their children to go through such situation. Staying at sembangwang and travel all the way to clement for school. The world is crazy! No. I shouldn’t say this. The world is fine. Society has gone crazy. When we were studying overseas, We would try our very best to find a place near to campus. It is crazy to travel more than an hour to reach school. By the time u reach school, u will be totally run out energy.

the issue is … when people rent house, how come this rental address can appear on the SG pink IC ? because during P1 registration, the officers in school examine the child’s Father’s address on the pink IC.

all along, i thought that the address shown the Father’s pink IC is the permanent residential address.

how on earth did those rental people rent a house <1km near to hot, popular schools … overcome this loop hole somewhere? That’s why surprising this year <1km from hot schools, so many people can apply ?

Next year, will be registering for DD. staying within 1pm from TN and Ngee Ann. Looking at this year result, decide to register with Ngee Ann under phase 2B next year though she is also eligible to register with TN for that phase. At least I am assured of a place with Ngee Ann.

Why not? You rent a place, you go to the police station, you change the address on your IC. Done.
