Childcare or no Childcare?
-
Had just enrol my ds in childcare and from what I observe for this 2 days, it was mainly childcare, quite lack of stimulation for the child in terms of their program and play, but still it depends on the teacher also, whether she is bubbling enough to arose their interest…and I do agree that to really stimulate the child, still need to go for those enrichment programme set out by the professional…
I’m a SAHM but wanted him to try childcare to learn to be more discipline and had more social interaction, but also feel guilty at the same time cos they are bounce to get sick more easily with all those runny nose just next to him…anyway, I still can keep him at home if its real bad, not like previously when I’m working and had no choice but to put my 1st ds in childcare… -
i think is good for children to attend childcare. my child learns to become more independent
as for getting sick, i guess its rather common as the child needs the get used to the environment. once stabilize, all will be ok. -
Hi I am new to kasu parents
Recently sent my girl to CDC and every night she been having nightmare and crying in her sleep. Anyone experienced this before? I am comtemplating if should stop sending her to ccc. -
Hi buttercup23,
My girl also had nightmare when I sent her to previous childcare, even though she attended for 2days only. The nightmare went on for about a month before it stopped.
To your girl, it may be some experience that she is afraid of. Mayb can talk to her teacher to find out what happened in class first. Maybe can ask the teacher to put closer attention on her. Mayb can try to ask ur girl?
Or sometimes it maybe a matter of finding a suitable ccc. For my girl, one of my first criteria is she has to b happy at the ccc. Now she is attending another childcare and happy there. Never cried even on the first day. Guess is a matter of getting the child into a ccc tt she is comfortable with.
Hope tt helps. All the best to u n ur girl. :xedfingers: -
Hi, same to me, my ds had disturbed sleep and once again I wonder if I had made the right decision and make me even more tired and more sleepless night. Anyway, this is common and will gradually stop once yr child settle well in the ccc.
Btw dokomo, how long you put yr child in the 1st ccc before you transfer her to another ccc. I was also thinking that if this crying go on, should I change him to another ccc, and if this change might be better or worse for him, cos worry the whole crying process start all over again and not good for the child. -

I stopped her ccc after only 2 days. I didn't want my dd to dislike going to schools in future. So the nightmare was more like the \"after-effect\". I didn't consider for long then as I didn't like what I see in the ccc either. Actually had no intention of searching for another ccc, but situation changed, so when I searched for 2nd ccc, I was more sure of what I want and more \"stringent\" in finding another one.
Sometimes when a child resist going to school, there maybe a reason behind. Will be good to find out why although I know it maybe difficult. Things don't happen for no reason. -
My son also had nightmare when he 1st started childcare, but it was a once-off event and happened some time in the middle of the 1st week. His teacher told me it’s actually quite common due to the sudden huge change in the child’s daily life, causing nightmares due to feelings of insecurity.

Dear all
Can Childcare centre " really train child to be more independent & hv more social interaction"? What are the things that a young child can learn from there?
How about PCF Kindergarden? those having 4hrs lesson, can it also hv "the same type of social interaction" as childcare ctr? -
Hi, my ds was 23th mth and had been in the ccc for almost a month. Till now, he still cry when I bought him in but had start to settle down better. Another thing that worry us now is he caught flu easily and also had fever twice. Wonder shd I continue to put him in ccc, feel guilty to see him suffer and more so since I’m a SAHM. My maid had just left and had decided not to engage another one and I still had 2 more elders ds & dd in P3 & P1.
I’m in a dilemma now, shd continue or stop as I understand at his age, he is bounce to get sick easily, on the other hand worry if I could cope with him around. At least in ccc, it would free me up for a few hr to do up all the chores and checking the Sch work of the 2 elders. Shd I persist for another month or so?
Appreciate some advices.
