I believe your DS will love the school.

There should be orientation where parents will get to tour the school while your DS will know his class and classmates.

When school starts, there will be a buddy from the senior boy assigned to assist your DS for the first few days especially during recess time.

Everything is taken care of, the only worries that you might have is that there aren't any homework initially! This is the part I like about ACSJ.

School is not all about study, ACSJ balances that well.

Thanks osakachan. I chose this school cos it's such a well rounded school, so glad to hear confirmation from you. No homework is also a plus! 😉

I'm so worried he's going to get lost in this huge school or even fall off the stairs cos the bag is so heavy! Does this happen to any kids? The school is so big!

This is common concern by parents including myself. I also used to worried if they will be knock down by older boys as well. Somehow our concern seems unfounded. Not only they can carried big bag, they also learnt how to buy food in the canteen and even know how to buy drinks from vending machine. They can even tell you where to find a nearer toilet. You will only worry when they visit the book shop too often - they buy all lots of erasers and etc.

The erasers!!! My boy has a pencil case full of them!!! He actually brings an extra pencil case that only carries his erasers!!! :faint:

On the bright side, he can now recognize the flags of various nations around the world...

There is one in coronation called out of the box. The other one is NYPS called Learning Bliss.

I put my DS in Kiddie Winkie after much consideration.

They use past year paper for assessment. However you have to pay for the paper.

Normally they will check with the kids if they have homework from school.

Visit the place and find out more about them.

Just dropping by to say hi :salute: my son will also be starting P1 next year. While I'm certainly looking forward to joining the Acsian family again, I pray my son will enjoy schooling at ACJS.

PS: This is an amazing thread in an amazing site. Thx to the founder of KSP.

Welcome JJLM, windie, rivevae and all those who will be joining ACJS next year!

DS1 is in P1 and we are enjoying it. So far school has been relaxed, giving the boys lots of time to play and do non-academic stuff. DS1 has a great bunch of teachers too. His form teacher, especially, has been very nurturing. But she’s no push over. I salute anyone who can handle 30 boys in an enclosed space!
