the issue is ... when people rent house, how come this rental address can appear on the SG pink IC ? because during P1 registration, the officers in school examine the child's Father's address on the pink IC.

all along, i thought that the address shown the Father's pink IC is the permanent residential address.

how on earth did those rental people rent a house <1km near to hot, popular schools ... overcome this loop hole somewhere? That's why surprising this year <1km from hot schools, so many people can apply ?
      Hi phtthp,
When you rent a house, you can put the rental address onto the pink IC already. Because in fact, you MUST report to the police where you are staying (this is of course presumably when you rent a place you should be staying there!). To change the address on the IC, just go to the neighbourhood police post and produce the Tenancy Agreement that's all. They will change it on the spot!

        aiyoh! alamak!

so easy can change address on pink IC. No wonder this year so many renting <1 km from hot schools can apply.

then MOE should verify all those <1km ... check pink IC address not good enough, but also bring down the ORIGINAL Title Deed for the house. If you are a tenant renting the place, you can't possibly hold the Original Title deed of the house. Only the owner has it. gosh!
        Hi Hi,
One will not have the ORIGINAL Title Deed to the house if one's house is still under bank mortgage. So how? :rotflmao:

No lah, can't think that far. Can only consider up to Pri school. After brief discussion with DH, most likely will relocate nearer to ACS. Not worth to spend so much just to relocate nearer to NYPS. As we need to consider our old age too. After all, boys tend to \"value\" wife more than mummy.

properties near ACS are cheaper than those near NYPS?

            hi laughingcat,

are you thinking of relocation - nearer to NYPS or ACS ?
long Term may be wise, bec number of good schools around Dunearn road. NUS campus, polytechnic located around there.
            Hi phtthp,

Wow, now get you get me worried about the ex-alumni >1km (or izzit 2km?) cannot ballot.

I AM thinking about renting around ACJS even though my hubby is ex-alumni and qualifies under P2A.

Anybody KS enough to rent within 1 km even though ex-alumni? Does it give \"double-chance\"?

Or anybody even more KS, ex-alumni, also buy/rent stay within 1 km, not enough also do PV JUST-IN-CASE? By the time our turn comes ie. 2013 register for 2014 in-take, what will the situation be like? :scared: :yikes:

Thought I can relax already but no. Better surf rental properties around ACJS as well as reccee the neightbourhood schools around my area!

I predict the \"2013 P1 Registration Exercise for 2014 In-Take\" thread will be up by the new year!! :heresmyfish:

              Gecko
Hey, this will be for me!
Yes, why not set this thread up too? But then perhaps too early because now situation changing year-by-year, too early to discuss may not be too useful. I will start by reading up on P1-registration already.
Sigh....and I have just settled DS on his kindy.....
              :faint:

did you check out chancery esquire/court which i think the price is more affordable and i think there are a few units for rent as well (i know someone living at esquire is paying about $3500 for a 2 bedroom apartment - he moved in last year).

DesertWind, actually I am sure a few of the alumni parents are afraid lah. With some calling \"foul\" on phase 2A and even suggested that balloting for phase 2A make some of us scare.

Suppose there is a ballot for phase 2A, I do not wish to take chances.
