Do you mind sharing which school this is?
Just find out from my girl, not all gep get confrim letter. RG and RI lesser than NYGH and HCI. And the main stream 1st calss only one confirmed and one wait list thru CCA to RI, 2 wait list thru math to HCI, RG and NYGH only 1 or 2 wait list.Happygolucky:
HI.
just curious. For those with kids who are successful. R your kids among the top 5% (in term of results) in their school cohort? Or mainly because they excel in their CCAs? -

And how come your daughter know? -
Congratulations to all who have received a confirmed offer so far.
Does any one know if NYGH has sent out the confirmation/rejection notifications? -

NYGH started sending out confirmation letters several weeks ago. All students with confirmed offers have been notified.

If not confirm offer, there should be at least a waitlist offer , am I right? Waitlist offer will eventually be confirmed if the student choose the school as 1st choice? Can anyone clarify this?

Kids who applied thru DSA will either get confirmed, waitlist or reject. Some schools like HCI have a priority waitlist and a normal waitlist. In Oct, they will be given a form to indicate their preference. If they indicate waitlisted school as 1st choice and that school has a vacancy, then he will get a confirmed place. If, unfortunately, that school does not have a vacancy, his 2nd choice school will be processed.
What I'm unsure of, is how do they determine which child's preference to process first? I think it could be by psle results. They will be informed of their allocated school when they received the psle results. If they're unsuccessful in getting any of the 3 schools, they will have to participate in the sec school posting together with the rest of the cohort. -

Not necessarily. By the end of August, your child should receive a letter from the schools he/she applied for DSA, stating whether he/she's been given a confirmed offer, is waitlisted, or rejected.
If your child has a confirmed offer or is waitlisted, he/she will be given a School Preference Form in October for him to indicate his choice of school. If he was rejected, he will NOT be given this form. Therefore he will not be taking part in the school selection exercise.
If he was waitlisted, his chances of getting into his school of choice depends on the number of vacancies available and how far up the waitlist he is. For eg., if there are 5 vacancies and your child is 6th on the waitlist, he will not be posted to that school. -

Are you sure ALL students with confirmed offers have been notified? I believe those who have been notified are from GEP & CCA/Sports Domain only. Take for instance, wmd's daughter, a mainstreamer with sterling results for Maths Competitions. I think she has not heard from NYGH yet but I believe she will get a confirm offer.
Btw, I understand that NYGH does not intend to select any student for a waitlist, unless they change their mind at the last minute... :?
wmd,
Has your daughter receive a confirm offer from RGS? -
