Virgo Mum:
Hi everyone! Wish to share this latest info about HOD EL's whereabout. I received clarification from the VP that Mr Bernard Chan is currently on work attachment for a period of time (6months or so) for the purpose of enhancing the school's future academic programmes upon his return. As for the MT teacher, he has applied for study leave to do his Masters in CL and this request was submitted last year & approval was then given by MOE in Mar. Affirmation was given by VP that no other teacher are leaving the school as rumoured. As a matter of fact, there is no changes affecting all the remaining classes except the ones under Mr Bernard Chan & the MT teacher. Having said this, the teachers who took over the classes of these two respective teachers are equally competent & diligent. So the pupils remained to be in good hands..definitely! Hope this news will allay the undue anxiety of all parents who are affected. Rest assured...Rulang has a pool of impressively credible educators .
Thanks for the update. My dd has been taught by Mr Chan and I must say he is one of the best teachers I ever met.
Yesterday, I posted a response to a message posted by Virgo Mom to clarify some issues as what was presented by Virgo Mom wasn't accurate. So I do not know why my message was removed but her message remains here. The more one tries to cover up, the more suspicious people are regarding certain issues. There is no smoke without fire.
Yes, I have indeed left the school. I would like to thank all parents for their concern and their kind words. -

Parents may be overly concerned due to departure of some good teachers which resulted some misunderstanding?
Anyway, I am pretty sure the P, Mrs Lim, will make all the necessary arrangement to ensure a smooth transition for both the students and the teachers. -

I was not attacking her. I merely told her to get the facts right about Mr Low's departure and Miss Oh's. She should not have posted something which wasn't true. -
er ... I did not disclose your identity. You claimed that you are Mr Chan yourself in the following post just moment ago. Even so, how do we know you are indeed the real Mr Bernard Chan, the winner of Inspiring Teacher of English Award 2008?

And thanks for disclosing my identity. By doing so, parents here now know for sure the Eng HOD has left the school and my good friend Mr Low's departure has nothing to do with any promotion. Great job! This speaks volume. Parents do not need to speculate further. Thank you!
thanks

May I ask if the statement \"Mr Chan is currently on work attachment for a period of time (6months or so) for the purpose of enhancing the school's future academic programmes upon his return\" is true?
Even if Mr Chan has left the school for personal reasons, he has every right to do so and there is no need to further speculate.
I am sure kids who have been taught by him would remember his interesting and creative ways of teaching English, making learning a language such fun and enjoyable. I learnt a lot from the worksheets he has given to my dd too

I don’t see why we need to argue over such trivial matters… Well, I don’t think its wrong to express oneself when one has been wrongly accused… End of the day, we must learn to speak up and defend ourselves… Speculating about the teachers leaving are definitely concerns of all parents especially good teachers as they are the pillars of the school… But I feel that facts which are not true should not be posted… What is the person trying to do? Lying…
We should just focus on the topics on hand… But do not mislead others -
I agreed with you starlight1968sg.
Ultimately, the P together with her teachers have to ensure the sustainability of all achievements/success made thus far by the school. The least we can do is to show some sense of tolerance & faith to the school, trusting their ability & capacity to resolve their existing and impending issues, whatever they are for the benefits of our children.
