There is a tourist centre at the ferry terminal. We booked our tour from there. I can't remember how much it cost. But it was reasonable. Note that there are alot of touts at the terminal.Macau - Where can I book the 1/2 Macau city tour? How much is that? Are there many different operators selling this tour?
What's the die-die-must-eat in Macau? Must be accessible on foot from ferry terminal.
Anyone with special advice how to prevent sea-sicknesses? Don't want to spoil my 1-day trip in Macau.
The Peak - is it really worth a nite visit? Or day time is equally good? Always hear people marvel at the nite view of HK from the Peak.
Outlet - I'm not really into branded stuff. But my travelling partner is die-die-must-buy type. Think the other outlet mall (prada, mui mui and many others) is called Horizons or something. Heng ah, that one not accessible by MTR, so manage to convince her not to go :moneyflies:
There are alot of free hotel buses that you can take from ferry terminal. Eg. you can take a bus to venetian (taipa area) to look look see see. Then take a bus from city of dreams hotel. They have buses going to many areas. Eg. you can take a free hotel bus to hotel sinatra and from there you can walk to senado square, ruins of st pauls, the shopping streets, etc.... If you are \"adventurous\", you can consider doing zhu hai as well. If not for the immigration, you thought it's part of macau.
Except portuguese egg tarts, we don't find food in Macau enticing at all.... we prefer HK.
For peak, we usually go in the late afternoon so we can see day and night view. The last time round, we did dinner at one the restaurants there with a great view and with sunset it was great.
Yah... the horizons.... heard about it but never been there. -

what time to check in actually? noon ? ur tips if for DL hotel or town hotel ? heee u r full of \"lubang\"
in general for most hotels, if rooms are available (previous guests checked out and the room has been cleaned) they do allow early check in .... then you can go do all your activities without wasting time waiting for check in..most hotels in asia state check in time after 12 noon or after 2pm
for hotels in town, 'late' can be as late as mid nite if you are really arriving late due to flight or biz meetings etc .... else quite meaningless to waste time to be late
for logistic reason, people check out early in the morning, park the luggage with concierge and go for meetings till evening, then come back to take the luggage to check into the next hotel --- for cases of changes in hotel (in same city) due to whatever reason -

here is the trick for hotel : if your hotel is confirmed booking, check in as late as possible, chances are you get an upgrade
I am not sure about a upgrade. Actually read from those \"ghost stories\" in U mag that they checked in late and were given \"reserved\" rooms that were not clean.... -

as a standard practice in hotel management (which is always not published, never admitted, never denied), all room inventory are allocated out based on least desireable room first, and the most desireable room last, so that the best is kept for the last and hopefully, fetch the best price, for any walk inverykiasu2010:
