One of my friend's maid even more creative.. She bake a cake and put my friend rolex watch inside the cake and told my friend that she want to bring home the cake for her family to eat... The next morning. Lucky she forgot to bring the cake ( in the fridge) because of the rush to the airport.. When in the airport, friend told me the maid suddenly remember the cake and insist to go back home n take the cake.. But friend say no time and told her to buy any cake at the airport... So the maid went to board the plane... When friend got back home from work and cut the cake to eat then she realize the watch is in the cake....
I've heard this same story from 2 different friends who said it was their friends' maids. So a number of maids are trying this ploy? My question is, do they bake the cake with the watch inside? Watch would be ruined then. 200 deg C!verykiasu2010:
When maids want to steal, they'll do it before they leave. Like pass it to the neighbour's maid etc when you're not home. Very difficult to catch when they do that. Of course the dumb ones will be like vk2010's one. Pack all the stolen loot into the last bag! :rotflmao:
for the last 16 years we never checked the maid's room or their bags. This is our first time because it started with missing cash .... which I took picture with the serial numbers and all found in her purse ..... stacks of cash !!
i was quite furious on the morning of departure I poured out the whole luggage and let her sort it item by item .... I am not worried about missing flight because I got plan B if have to miss the flight -

same like mine... some friends had come over and got some expensive cake as the gift... i hardly had any piece then got too busy so 2 days never think bout cake.. third day thought lemme have the piece opened the fridge.. just 2 pieces left.. i got shock of my life asked my maid she said kids ate.. i said cannot be so many pieces they eat.. then scared her would c via the camera so must tell truth.. later came to me said yes madam i ate all :yikes: i was like wat... why and why never ask me.. she said i like cake and if i would have asked u.. u would have said no :stupid:
Hi LKVM,
Sometimes, I really wonder at their \"intelligence\". They actually think they can eat one \"whole box\" of cakes without being found out? :skeptical:
AKA my maid re-bonding hair, she think we blind? I wonder what other employers would do. Pack her off immediately already right? Terribly amazed at her guts (cheeks too) to take such a huge risk!

Same here hquek. We never restrict them on food. But after eating too much went on crash diet. Scared they get gastric or faint then medical bills :moneyflies: !My current maid now is on slimming diet. Someone told her she looks fat and now she's restricting herself to 1 slice of bread each morning. My first maid also the same. some joker told her she put on a lot of weight and then suddenly she become miss small appetite - all the way till end of her term with us.
I really wish these pp will keep their opinion to themselves. very scared they will starve themselves and faint. -

My maid is free to eat anything except for my concentrated birdnest. She is auto so no problem with stealing food etc so far.
Hi tigger88,
My 1st maid is also an automatic maid. She is free to eat anything and she will ask before she eat. On her off-days she will also buy back curry puffs, fishball, carrot cake and such for us.
She will also not help herself to expensive food or can drinks until we tell her to.
She told me she has never eaten bird nest before and hate to eat durian. So I actually took a kick out of getting her to eat Cat Mountain durian (told her if she must eat durians, eat the BEST!) and also to try bird nest!
She was pretty shocked (and nervous?) when I give her a small bowl of home-cook birdnest. Said it is very very expensive mam & sir eat! I told her we cook enough and it is just a small bowl don't worry! Ate and said it smells eggy and like jelly. Heh, heh...
For durian, she tried courageously and then told me hmmm.....it is sweet and creamy, very nice! Now she don't mind eating durian if we buy. Told her for durian, don't bother eating unbranded ones especially if she don't really like. I have tried all types of durian since young. If you encounter watery, hard, sour ones...yucks!

DesertWind:
You very good, to offer her homecooked birds nest. Just remember story about a maid whose first employer brought her for facials. When she changed employer, the maid 'hiam' that the new one never bring her.

Then again, after spending time with them, and if they are nice/good, this kind of thing don't 计较. happy working relationship is best. -

Oic...and you kept the lock I presume?
LKVM:
Sorry dear if it wasnt clear... before she left for the airport I checked her bag and asked her to lock in front of me and keep the bag outside so that she dont anyhow put anything before leaving the house mah... she has separate maid's room!
Angelight:
LKVM, your maid allows you to keep her lugguage outside? where? I thought maids these days know their rights and would not allow us to keep their personal belongings.
Yes same..... i also let her pack in front of me and lock and keep outside... -
Erm…what if they keep the money in their underpants? There is no way we can check thoroughly right?
-
is so sad that we need to stoop so low to deal with the mad maids in order not to be cheated or defrauded…what the world has become ??
