培青学校-Students master 2000 chinese words in 2 years (

Dear mummies,


I saw the news in today's chinese newspaper and it really caught my eyes.

The students in this school learn 2000 words in P1 & P2 which normally takes 6 years to complete in other primary schools. Awesome!

Anyone has experience with this school? Mind to share?

How can i buy the materials?

What is the school's name in English?

However, I will only be impressed if the kids know how to use these words and actually use them on a regular basis in daily life, not just to score well in studies. And some years down the road, I'm also interested in how many will say \"all return to teacher already\".

Sorry but I'm really skeptical of \"crash/cram\" courses/style of learning.

By the way, Poi Ching is a SAP sch so it has Higher Chinese so maybe their students are expected to be able to learn so much in such a short period of time.

I totally agree with schellen. Also, the kids must have spent a lot of time on chinese subject alone. Will this affect other subjects' progress? :roll:

I do believe that it is possible for children to learn 2000 chinese words by the age of 8. But I wish that we can start to teach them earlier, like from 3 years old, and not cram all the learning to P1 and P2. It is much easier to learn 2000 words from 3 to 8 years old.

All we need is good learning materials for Chinese ! The article wrote that the school has 自编的韵语课本. I wish they can make it available at all the bookshops in Singapore !

I have just called the school and happy to share that the 2 colorful books ($16 in total) + gadzet (about $150) use for P1 are available for public to purchase.

Aside of the 2 books, they do use other materials which are for their internal use.

The school is happy and willing to guide us to make full use of the materials, preferable in a group.

The school is open till 5pm from Mon-Fri.

I intend to form a small group (max 10 persons) to attend for the orientation. Anyone interested, please let me know.
