      Hi mummies

Forgot to add, mayb my son has too many activities in school too. Like racial harmony day, he has to skip lesson to prepare the booth. When he took the UNSW exams, he has to skip lessons too. When he went for golf tournament, he has to miss a day's lessons. So I think mayb all this add up too besides the everyday homework.
pingathot, yes, your DS is really a busy boy 😓 but its a good experience for him

Hi chloecube, yes, its good experience for him but too breathless for mummy! You’ve to worry his school works not done, tuition too but he is a boy that takes things very slowly, happy go lucky type. Sometimes your hair stands and shoot up your blood pressure!

Exam or no exam, he’s still the normal self. Not nervous, no worry and not revising too. So do you think will u get worry whether he will pass or not? Sigh! Dont knw when then he can wake up.

boys normally do not \"kai qiao\" as fast as the girls.
my DS belongs to the \"Owl\", oblivious to his surrounding and like to keep a low-profile, but DD is totally different, she is like a \"peacock\", she is chatty and like to have attention on her
different kids behave differently, it can be very trying for the parents. i am also learning to see their strenghts rather than their weakness

                    Hi mummies,

I understand there is no exams for P1. How does the school assess the kids then? Does no exams translate into several mini surprise tests? If so, does the school ‘stream’ the kids say for P2 based on their aggregate performance in these mini tests or do they stay with the same class for P1 and P2?

                      Hi mummies,

I was doing some search online and happen to come across this “kiasu parents forum”.
Since than I have been reading on the different post and find it interesting and want to be Kiasu as well… lol
Indeed I am very kiasu, my son was born in 2009 which mean he will only be entering P1 in another 5 years… we stayed in Bedok and I don’t really fancy the school nearby…
Thus I would like to find out how is the school like and what is the hours like?
I heard from my friends that the different school start class at different time? Is it true?
When should we start volunteer work if I want to send my kid to the school… since it is definitely out of the 1km range…?

                        Hi needhelpmummy, WELCOME!

I am also staying at Bedok and I think Red Swastika and Temasek Primary are quite good. But if you think of sending yr boy to Ngee Ann, Welcome!
Yes, different schools have different hours. At present, Ngee Ann’s sch hrs has changed to 7.45 am to 1.45 for Monday, 7.45 - 1.30 for Tues-Thurs and 7.45 - 1.15 for Fri. Hope I am correct.
From P1 and P2, they’ve scrape off exams. So there will be some assessment thru tests and learning in the class. P1 n P2 will b in the same class unless there’s certain reasons. Ngee Ann has no CA1 or CA2 tests. Not like some other schools. Only mid year and final exams until you reach P5.
You can check with the school when can you start volunteer work. By the way, what makes you want to join NA?
