A brand new building sounds good with hopes that it is bigger thus can have larger intake.
i am expecting some 'surprises' in the regulating of the number of student intakes among some schools next year in Bukit Batok area cos Dazhong will by then be back at its permanent premises with a brand new building.

titank... I thought you should have no problems getting your little one into RMPS?
Chief, titank likes to listen to the song \"In a heartbeat\".

good thread to be initiated. My brother was concerned abt his daughter who might have problem looking for a good school when Y2013 registration comes. Cos he stays at Pasir Panjang area and no school around.. any advice from pple staying at that area ? Thks30plus:
Chief, you really KS. The 2012 exercise has not finished yet. You put up 2013 already. My DS1 will be there then. More and more challenging from the stats.
But I'm really ChiefKS. Or you prefer to call me ChiefReallyKS?
Anyway, I created this thread because someone has already started asking questions about it and there is no existing thread for it. -
Stress … wating for NCPS PV Hope can get it shifitng over to SK . using new address to enrol… If No PV think wont risk to ballot for 2C even i am within 1KM.
My own pri sch is in Tampines, no choice will need to travel to & fro tampines & SK…
Wish me luck -
Millan, depending which part of pasir panjang, some schools that your bro can consider will be QiFa, Fairfield Methodist, radin mas, chij kellock. These schools that I have mentioned are more than 1km, unfortunately. Schools such as Fairfield, radin mas are hotly contested even for PV while others are manageable depending on that year’s enrollment. So it really come down to what your bro’s expectation for his kid/s.

I'm registering next year too for son. Bukit timah Pri or Pei Hwa. Here I come!! Anyway else going to Pei Hwa or BTPS> I've heard good things about both schools

PH has long history (since 1889), just like many other top schools and has a strong academic background. You will know what I mean if you refer to the \"Ranking by Academic Excellence\" site.
BTPS on the other hand has good CCAs with impressive achievements from its Brass Band. Have heard good reviews about the school too with committed teachers.
You need to ascertain your own set of criteria before deciding which school to send your son to.
For us, we choose PH due to the following reasons:
- proximity to school (save on travelling time and tpt fees)
- strong Chinese culture and environment
- SAP school (Yes! I want my DS to do HCL Some said I am crazy cos DS is quite \"potato\")
- proven academic records as it is one of the top NON-GEP school
- mission school
The only push factor was the CCAs offer by PH. I prefer the CCAs in BTPS, but the pull factors for PH are definitely over-weighted than BTPS's based on our criteria above. I am also prepared to brave through the storm with DS as many have warned me about the stress that I will face. -
Wow 2013 ! Ks indeed but I "like" . But it’s always never too early when it comes to being KS! Since I joined a few years back , it just gets tougher each year . I recall telling myself shifting house is the best option to get a place to good schools but not anymore . Today even doing PV work accompanied with staying within 1km does not guarantee you a place. Although I have a place in 2A , I wonder if I will be kicked out of the seat tomorrow if there is a change in the rule of the game. I can imagine the stress of parents who are at the mercy of balloting with no other choice. Well just enjoy the process , stressful it may be but I think only my kid gets into P1, the real stress begins . That is the part I don look forward.
