It is still good for us to be given some tips and advice. I, for one, tend to make lots of mistakes in life when I just follow my heart.

i nvr heard of this?
Is it really useful?
what is include? -
I had to go for one when I was preparing to get married… It was mandatory for getting married in church.
Looking back, I think it’s a bit waste of time, seems like the focus was more on religion, rather than on married couples, etc. -
I had mine, which ran for 6 sessions covering the various aspects of marriage. It was useful. The key thing I learned was that it takes lots of commitment to have a successful marriage. The challenges faced by every couple can be pretty different was well.

Hi all
Here is a link to the Catholic Engaged Encounter (Marriage Preparation Course) that me and my husband attended 6 years ago. No need to be Catholics to attend.
Recommended to go for all couples! Even married couples also should go, if you do not attend one before!

BTW, our pre-marital counselling (the 6 session course mentioned above) was conducted by my church Pastor. Informally, we also met up with other Pastors, deacons and friends who shared useful marriage tips. After we got married, the informal sessions continued. I guess we can call them marital counselling sessions. This is likely to be a lifelong process. The purpose of such sessions is to achieve a blessed marriage and to avoid having to go for post-marital counselling. :?:
Working on the marriage is a life-long process and pre-marital counselling is just a start. -
Our marriage prep counselling was done at our Church too.
But just in-case some prefer non-doctrine based marriage prep you can checkout http://www.carecorner.org.sg
Not quite sure about now, but the Family Service Centers used to conduct marriage prep counselling.
It usually begins with a personality test, which both are required to do separately.
There by knowing urself and your spouse-to-be better.
