All About Parent Volunteers (PV)

Just curious , are most who work as PV here working parents ? How you guys afford the time !! Is it min 80 hrs ? Any min hrs by week ?

I am planning to use my leave, time-off and maybe some saturdays for PVs. Of course, provided such arrangements is acceptable and suits the school. Guess gotta make sacrifices here and there...sigh....

:scared: sshhh... better not let your HR know... this kinda thinking can get you into big trouble.

I suggest you come clean with the school about you being a FTWM. Some schools are very understanding. They can assign PV whom are working parents with assignments that allows you to clock many hours in a stretch. Like if you take half day or one day and clock that 4 - 8hours.

Yes, and like LOLmum suggests, some schools also allows mum and dad to combine contribution to hit the 40 hours.

Some schools require more than 40 hours for PV so do take note when applying.

Can i stay > 2km and apply for PV, or do the schools always reject such applications?


I am planning to move within 1 or 2km, but only in 2-3 yrs time, cos my daughter only due for P1 in 2014.
