With all the talks flying around (vineyard news of maid salary increase, agencies accused of price-fixing and charged in court, etc), I thought of polling on the actual benefits you’re giving to your maid now. It will serve as a more realistic guideline of market rates/benefits in Singapore, and hopefully helpful to employers with maids. Appreciate if you could advise with the following:

      1) Nationality (Phil / Indon / Myanmar / etc)
      2) Salary per month
      3) No. of off days per month (and what are the PH off days, if any)
      4) No. of years of work experience in Singapore
      5) No. of years with your household
      6) Any other benefits
      7) If you’re keen to provide description of the kind of work she does in your household, feel free to do so.

      Thanks!!

                  Kiasu Box,
I live in a modest 4-room HDB flat. 🙂 I pay my helper this much cos prior to joining me, she had 7 years of experience here in Singapore. I interviewed her face-to-face and I find her quite good. She's the serious type and so far, its good. She's a good cook and so, let's just say I pay for her experience.

Note : She has agreed to extend her WP with me for the next 2 years, and I will be paying her $420. I did this so that there will be incentive for her to come back after her homeleave to work for me.
