      Hi KCQ,

Dont worry so much.Am sure you have done well.

Just to share, dd took her Prelim oral last month. Her Eng examiner was so stern, and yet dd marks was good.Whereas, dd chinese examiners were smiling throughout the whole oral, she did not do as well.

So, as long as you have done your best, that is the most impt, regardless the examiner smile, stern or not.

Yesterday, dd saw two children were crying after the chinese oral. Not sure what happened.Apparently, heard that this year if one got the day one an easy one, same goes for day two, unlike other year, as in one day easy and the other day hard. Not sure how true it is.

      Have a good day all.

      Cheers,

      KCQ:
My English oral teachers were very friendly and smiled, nodded and even laughed when I said something!:) They also wished me a good day after I wished them. However, my CL oral examiners were two very stony-faced old ladies and completely ignored me when I greeted them and said my index number!:( Also they did not even smile when I smiled at them, and when I had not finished describing the picture, they stopped me and told me I talked too much and went on to conversation! I'm afraid that would affect my marks...also we were running rather late(1 HOUR LATE!!!:O) Granted, they were having a long day and hearing almost the same old stuff for 25+ pupils, but I think they should've been more polite or acknowledged me! It did make me very nervous and I can say that I was not my very best though I tried really hard. Those examiners gave me a nerve-wrecking 10 minutes! Oh well, what is done is done and time will tell how I've done. Good luck to everyone's dds and dss or you, if you are taking PSLE! 加油!! Last leg already!:D

Thank you :thankyou: A lot of people from my school said Day 1 (both subjects) were rather tough... :nailbite: Will marks be affected if you don't complete the picture, because the examiner asks you to stop? She did and I was worried because I did not finish my final part of the picture and the conclusion and she had us move on. :?:

Maybe like Chinese instrumental music exam. When the examiners have heard enough, they just ask you to stop.

            😄 Hi everyone!

Having read the above few posts , I can't help but to share what my neighbour's dd went thru. She was :yikes: to see one of her examiners' shoes taken off. Mid way thru the oral, the other examiner started rubbing her BOTH EYES with the balls of her knuckles. Before she cld finish her pix discussion, her dd paused for less than a second, the examiner asked her 'jiang wan le ma' with arched eyebrows. Her dd felt that it was excruciating & distracting to have examiners like that.. :scared:

Luckily, my dd\"s experience was not so dramatic. They looked very stern at the beginning but loosen up & smiled mid way thru..

            God blessed everyone! 🙏

My youngest girl needs an hour to travel home as the distance between my house and her school is very far. Supp class and Higher Chinese is unavoidable so she reaches home about 5-6pm everyday. Still need to bathe, eat dinner and do homework. and that would end to about 10-11pm. And she would not have enough sleep…

              Any suggestions or tips here?

                :welcome: Hi Cheeseandbutter,
Everyday my dd gets home around the same time as urs too!
Besides suppl lessons, she has to make long journeys to her training ground for her cca esp during national competitions. DD does her hw during recess, lunch hour & will try to finish whatever she can b4 coming home. She has a data plan attached to her hp which wld enable her to access for research easily. On her journey to & fro training, she wld youtube for relaxation. This arrangement still allows her to get to bed before 10pm & even has time to do her leisure reading or facebooking. Hahaha!
Though this may work for dd but it may not work for others as it really depends on individual character & discipline. :nunchuk:

Commercial Break before all the posts rolling in...

What is the perfect teacher's day gift?Any suggestion...

                    Cheers,

Dd initially wanted to bake but I worry it may take too much time away from prelim preps (will do the baking as farewell gift year end) So I have suggested those pretty looking bag- hangers or lovely handmade soap (we gave those last year actually;)) Male teachers- dd says box of red pens are best! 😆
They will make own gift wraps and cards.

                      Hi,

Just want to find out if any of your DS/DD did the Rosyth 2010 Prelim Papers. Wanted to find out whether there is any info missing from the Paper 1 Question 27. Only given 2 right angle and a 20%. Just wondering how to find out total number of pupils.... :?:

                        Hi Emelyn

DD also said there is missing information by not given either total number of people or people for any group etc

She can only work out reading is 30%, Listen to music and Sports are 25% each!

                        Thank you
