Morning Everyone! Sunday as usual it is enrichment day, overheard a parent asking the principal if the teachers are native from China and the answer?
Yes, 100% of them. On a separate note, Singaporean Mandarin Teachers doesnt like to work weekends so it is quite hard to hire. -
My kid’s kindy MT teacher is also from China. Their Chinese enrichment centre’s boss is from China, so all the teachers are from China too.

I overheard a conversation between 2 mothers. The gist of it was that the only way to write Chinese compo is to memorise good compo and they said that there's no shortcut.
I was :? because I thought memorising good compo IS the shortcut.
I can see the argument for this method. But one of the mothers was commenting the child mixed up the sequence, so this reflect that there's no understanding causing the exercise to be furtile.
I hope I will be brave enough to go by the \"long way\" -

Memorise a good compo??? That is like a quickest way to kill creativity in a child…and yes a short cut.
Will be joining you on the long path… I used to have a chinese tutor and she teaches in a different manner. A scenario is given and she just keep asking questions on what happens next. Think when such things is constantly done, then your mind tends to imagine more but then again, you over think. The side effect for me now
