[Bishan] Primary Schools

I’m thinking of PVing for either Ai Tong or KCP. With Ai Tong, my chances of getting a seat for my daughter is fairly low… maybe 1 in 3 according to the stats but with KCP, it’s almost a sure win.
Of course, i heard so many good things about Ai Tong but i am not undermining KCP’s standard as well.
Where can i find KCP’s PSLE performance over the year on the forum?
TIA -
Anyone can share is Guangyang a good school? How about Zhong Hua ?

Hi Jennylkm09, i c an share some info about guangyang as my child is there! But as for ZhongHua, i'm afraid i cant help.
Guangyang is hmmm... a school that i would say an average school? I choose here is because i dont want my children to go through stress competition, as compared to those good and 'branded' schools like Aitong and Cat high. But here, is more like a friendly competition, teachers will motivate children to work harder, and children among themselves will also encourage each other to work hard together.
in 2010, they acheive Good progress school for PSLE.
I hope so far all these info helps. -
Hi mummyfun,
Thank you for sharing.
I have actually registered my son with Guangyang in the phase 3 as we are foreigners. Just came from Hong Kong in Aug after the school year finished in Jul 2011. Yes, we have gone through the balloting for the final and thank God that my son is in.
Notice that there are quite a lot of children from other countries. Korea, Philiphines, Myanmar, Malaysia, China.....
Hope that the school will soon be ready in Bishan as we live nearer to Bishan than Ang Mo Kio.

Hi jennylkm09
Similar situation here, got our daughter into Guangyang after balloting, was very tense. We also came here from HK last year, took us nearly a year to work out the system. You so efficient just arrived and successfully registered your son. See you at orientation. -
See you there too. Nov 11.

Hi all, I'm new here. My boy was born in 2009 and due for P1 registration in 2015. But after reading the forum, I can't help but worry. Seems like it's time to do something now to increase our chances of getting our boy into our choice school - Ai Tong. Talk about being kiasu!
In order to qualify for Phase 2B, we are intending to shift to <1km from the school, I'm going to apply to be their PV once registration is open and my hubby will be joining the SHHK. But based on the past two years' statistics, balloting was done even for Phase 2B, <1km! :slapshead:
I gotta discuss with my hubby and come up with a Plan B now. My question is, which other school in the vicinity is not bad too? And what are the chances of getting in? Thanks in advance! -

Hi Skyea, Cat High is close by, but I think it's just as hotly contested. How about Kuo Chuan Presbytarian? But if KCP is Plan B, you will be going in at Phase 2C and you'll need to ballot unless you are less 1km at 2C.Hi all, I'm new here. My boy was born in 2009 and due for P1 registration in 2015. imho, it should either be PV or SHHK. spreading both hubby and yourself thin over 2 commitments is not going to give you double chances of getting into AT.In order to qualify for Phase 2B, we are intending to shift to <1km from the school, I'm going to apply to be their PV once registration is open and my hubby will be joining the SHHK. so you should assess whether PV or SHHK will offer you better chances of trying for a place in 2B.
