Mummies out there who are more well-versed in Mandarin, correct me if I’m wrong.
I think 粒 is for very small item, so can be used for 一粒米 but think apple too big, so use 一个?
So trying to find an authority book on these 量词. -

from what I understand...
li.. not necessary use only for small thing.. is more for something that is more of a round shape..
yi li xi gua.. = watermelon.. quite bit wor.. :rotflmao: -
common usage might not be right one.
But rice not round, still use li leh. -
errr... round as in not full circle...
watermelon also not circle shape..

Hm… yuan quan is not a thing… is a description of drawing a circle…
ge… will be more for fix item…
