http://www.razor.tv/site/servlet/segment/main/news/68488.html, wasn't he ? I particularly like the ' Ah Ter and Ah Kau cannot look after each other ' story - how can 2 members of same team for 20yrs keep check on each other ??? only can cho hee, imho.

you would like this speech by Mrs Ivy Singh-Lim at TKL rally last night. Nothing much on endorsement on the candidate, but she is speaking as a FULL-BLOODED SINGAPOREAN, a common people kind of feeling.

** http://www.razor.tv/site/servlet/segment/main/news/68576.html ** <= please listen to her patriotic speech

      Hi Caroline3sg,

Ivy Singh was really powerful in her speech, right ? :rahrah: :rahrah:

So sincere, so passionate, so patriotic, I wish SHE was running for President. You can feel the fire in her love for Singapore.

she is really one impressive powerful ch........, I mean woman !

Tks Strparent for all the links to the speeches. I enjoyed her passionate speech. Can feel and see the 'fire' in her to want a more democratic society in our homeland-SINGAPORE! She's :imcool:

        chenonceau,

errr, sorry, not going back on my word; that was just tongue-in-cheek, making a mickey, a joke, a punt, just kidding.

as for all the other terms or labels - no, not at all complimentary...nor insult.

all terms are simply descriptive imho.

On Jurong hospital renaming, he resigned when he didn’t agree with d rationale.
That shows his conviction. Was the timing material?
Any time would hv been before d PE announcement.
haven't read the link. but I did mused for sometime about the quitting of JGH. I am assuming that board members are paid.

So if he feels that naming the hospital for someone whose family contributed 10% of the total cost is not correct, and has strongly argued against it and still they never back off, is it alright for him to stay on the board and seemingly acquiese to this? Is it right to continue taking the money from a place he dun believe is doing the right thing?

that's my own thinking only lah, no inside news.

I don't like her looks. Not presentable to be president.
              Caroline3sg,

if looks was a priority, I don't think Devan Nair or SR Nathan would have made the cut either.
our founding father was not a looker, either.
              imho.

I guess it's all relative...depends on compare to who.

Ivy should wear something more presentable. She has perspiration on her arms and carried a towel around her neck. She is speaker for political rally. First impression counts. This is first time I see her, I don’t know who is she until she introduced herself.

Devan Nair was ter kan by LKY until bankrupt and hence undersirable state of looks. Nathan is okay, just his wife too huge.
