If you could, would you decide on a 3rd child?

winth, no lah, dun feel scare, its just my own thinking. Morever every kids are different. Some might be light storm, some heavy storm. I guess its a stage that all of us have to go through. But for me and hubby, going through this stage once is enough lor.
You're scaring me leh... #3 was just talked about yesterday again.daisyt:
hi winth, these are the signs storm is coming soon. hahaha ... How old is your DS1 ?
I was thinking to myself, 11 to 12 yos = storm. 13 to 15 = typhoons. 15 to 18 = tsunami. 18 and above, hopefully its a calm and nice beach ...
Anyway just carry on your plan ... Jia you !
-
winth:
Nah, I'm sure u know better than I. My kids all under 7, haven't met a storm yet. Ignorance is bliss, yes?
Maybe we were too self-critical :oops:3boys:
Wow, a lot of hand-wringing and introspection.....
P.S. Just a few weeks ago, DS1 got engaged with us in a long negotiation to get something he wanted. His persistence and determination, as well as thought process, simply blew us away. Am encouraged by his progress, but also, a little apprehensive at his show of independence. -
Another factor to consider is age of the mother by the time she has #2. As one gets older, one actually has less energy to still run after the little ones, especially if one is also working full-time. There are those who marry young or have kids young. Others marry late or have kids late. Everybody is in different situation from one another. For me, I want to be fair to all my kids and no #3 for me unless I am sure I have as much time and energy for the 3rd one as the first two.

U can be assured, whether it be one child, 2, or more, every single child has a chance of turning into a bad egg, regardless of the effort we put into them. What's the big deal?I'm not some 母猪 who gives birth and just leave them there to survive, and jump down and die if they grow into bad eggs.
If my child ever becomes a bad egg, i hope at the very least, she's the biggest baddest egg LOL -

What's the big deal?
Of course, there's no big deal. Just jump down right? One less skun-bag (oops, is that the wrong spelling?) -
People around me who have seen how DD was when she was younger are amazed that I still want more kids. She is a normal kid but just difficult. Everthing with her is a struggle. From birth she hardly sleeps. She demands a lot of attention and things have to go her way and done her way or good luck to you. But even when in the midst of figuring her out, it never occured to me to stop at 1.
Imagine if I have stopped due to my fear that my 2nd kid will be as difficult as DD. I would never have known DS. Never experience his love, his cheekiness and all. I will not have another pair of chubby arms to comfort me when I am down.
I have seen people with even more challenging children, be it with health issues, autism, ADD, ADHD, etc and they have the courage to go on and have more kids. Compared to these people, what I am faced with in my DD is peanuts.
Life is never a single straight road. Whatever our decisions, we just have to make sure that we do our best whatever our circumstances may be. Sometimes I tell my friends, maybe it is precisely because I have gone through what I have gone through with DD that I have the courage to have more.
My sis calls me delusional, my frens say I am an optimist. Me, I just believe that I will not be given a challenge that is beyond me.
That said, I am also practical lah. Age does play a huge part in how many kids we will have. Right now, it seems our baby plans may have been stalled due to medical conditions. -
winth:
for those who cannot take it, there's always the option to jump. Me and my evil brood will never. We will be around to terrorize everyone. Muahahahaha.
Of course, there's no big deal. Just jump down right? One less skun-bag (oops, is that the wrong spelling?)
*if u see a kid with a plastic sword whacking other kids on the head, u bet it's from my clan* lol -
Funz:
oh dear, some things really can't be helped. But at least u r strong and you are likely to have strong kids too

Good for u

There is a reason why sex is pleasurable…to ensure the continuation of the species!
Steve Levitt (again, in Freakonomics), attributes the fall in crime rate in the big cities in the 1990s to one big societal change in the US…the legalisation of abortion. Its in chapter one, go read it.
Now, I am against abortion, but there is something to be said about unwanted pregnancies, and their impact on society. -

Why do I get the feeling that you are proud if your kids would turn out to be a bad egg?
If my child ever becomes a bad egg, i hope at the very least, she's the biggest baddest egg LOL
Not sure whether to be happy for your kids or sad for them.
