Finally After each day's Papers getting more Tough progressively thru the Week (And Can Tell By my Gal's Gloomy Face that she's Getting More worried each Day ....)

Finally Today Sc Prelim Paper is Something that she's More Happy Over, Not of the Extremely Tough Ones, as We have Half Expected!
      Dun worry too much.

        E3:

Mark, FOCUS on each line of the poem.

        My guess: China

Reasons: Xinjiang owns one of the world's largest prairies, water buffaloes are used in many places to aid agricultural planting, stars are found both on the national flag and seal. River Yangtse, Yellow River and Pearl River are the major rivers. Typhoon raged in many parts of China. The Chinese National anthem sings of courage and unity!!

Mark, focus, focus...don't get too distracted.

        Stay cool... :imcool:
        Ok, will ..... try ...... my ..... best ...... to ..... stay ...... focused.

I only know that it's not china nor taiwan nor hk as IJJ mentioned that she needs to put special effort to maintain chinese std. After reading your post, now I'm gravitating towards australia. Must make use of this long weekend to think carefully.

Btw, your poem is like GEP std leh. I mainstreamer of course will kenna stress lah. πŸ˜†

Hmm, E3, I thought you are over-qualified to guess cos you already know the answer... :? ... or are you trying to confuse us? iirc, IJJ said going to a place need to teach CL at home, right?...

Kansas, USA also has prairies & buffaloes, lots of sunflowers... stars on its state flag... many rivers, tonadoes... and the state song mentioned courage and grace... and no prata easily available... likely very few chinese speaking pax/store too.... so, I'm not changing my answer.... πŸ†’

              Hi Parents,

              School dismisses early today.
Hope P6s have finished their prelims...so can take a break this weekend b4 PSLE listening compre being the next hurdle.

Yeah Will Take A Break Over this Long Holiday Weekend, and Prompt her to Do More Revision on her Weaker areas Next Week πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰

I don't think you will need to prompt your daughter to revise...if she is gloomy and worried, she will be auto to revise on her own.
Anyway, all schools set tough prelim papers as a form of 'wake-up call' to the kids. The P6s need a good break today. :rahrah:

Sorry...sorry....I am extremely busy this entire week, with the moving stuff and kids are not letting me pass each day easy. I will try to post some pics of the place over this weekends. Maybe you can get some clues from there.

Markfch..I believe you can guess it. πŸ™‚

Just a quick share of our move. God has been blessing us, again and again, beyond what we asked for. Many times, when we are at our wits' end, things turn out otherwise, in ways we can never imagine and His presence is always felt. His wisdom and love is beyond what we can apprehend.

U hv another option: leave them and return to mainstream.

Initially I wanted to suggest that too - I'm sure most schs will welcome comfy's dd with open arms - but then realised that for some kids (such as my ds just as an example, not saying that he can qualify - not a sniff) their confidence level will take a hit if they are to return to mainstream. So there are other factors at play.

I agree. Such decision shld be the last resort. The child must also be involved in the decision making with lots of support from family/relatives etc.[/quote]Placing a gifted child in mainstream school, you may encounter other issues too. I will share more on this when I can breath better (nowadays, I think I am always panting  πŸ˜‚ ). πŸ˜‰

So students without prior knowledge are definitely at a disadvantage unless the student is a true math genius. Yap, unfair right, so what to do, going to outsource Math in the coming months. So if cannot beat them, join them. Only :moneyflies: Even having remedial lessons also quite useless as 'Teaching' method still the same.

U hv another option: leave them and return to mainstream.

Actually, did consider this option and suggest it to my dd quite a no of times esp. when I am stressed by the teacher's indifference & mindset. But dd doesn't want lei. So what to do, need to support her, rite? Die, die must go thru it. Not going to think too much.

Hey Mark, if your ds is selected… hee hee… in two years time. What will you do? You keep on saying no way,no chance… I say, what if?

If it is only this particular unsupportive teacher, then to give up the prog wld be a pity. Jia you :rahrah:
