Angelight:

I know how you feel, 1amber. :hugs: If it's God's will for us to have only one 'bao bei', we just have to accept it. DH and I are content with our little princess until we learnt that his brother is going to have a 3rd child next year (dragon baby)...life is unfair, right? Some pple can have many kids, some only one, some worse - couldn't have any...
hello all,

One child for me as well...and unlikely to add on more...turning 46 and DD only 5. DH 53. Tough on both DH and me physically up till recently. Tried having another with medical help but didn't work out. Got pregnant but foetus didn't develop. Had something like miscarriage while living in UK a few years back.

Sad episode for us for not being able to have at least another one. Talked about it with DH once every now and then if we have the courage to defy the biological clock. But odds are stacked against us. DH always overseas and me having those crazy hormonal and fibroid challenges.

3 would have been great for us. DH loves kids. But nevertheless we are truly blessed with a gift from God.

Hello Angelight,

Thanks for your words of comfort. Each time I find out someone I know is pregnant, a lump forms in my throat. But as you said, if one is my lot and not more, so shall it be. I am truly blessed to have a wonderful daughter. Life goes on! Refusing to let myself be down. Have a great Friday! :)
Although I am copeing much better now, I still get a lump in my throat too. Can't help but feel that its terribly unfair. Feel like a loser too.

:hugs: I know how you feel...I feel kindda sad too. But don't blame yourself or feel like a loser cos it's NOT our fault. It's all fated or God's will.

Hi ansh0000,

Age is not a problem for you so perhaps you can try for a second child first before considering adoption..
My DH and I looked at adoption before our boy came, and after..
For me I knew it wouldn't work after we have our own, and I don't think I will be a fair mum in future..
😄

Juz me $0.02

Hello All

I didnt knw tht there’s this page… Glad Ive browse this Kiasuparents rather than just looking at the academic pages…

I am the only child and now having only son who is already 7. Had MC before and after him so I have come to terms tt maybe this is the plan HE has for
Me. I would love to have more but…

It is so sad when at times my DS would ask me why am
I not giving him any brother/ sister when all his friends having siblings…

I can feel hw bored life can be without having anybody(siblings) ard esp when Im getting older now. Wouldnt want my DS to feel this way to but there’s nothing I can do… Just hv to give him the best in
Life…

Hi Shimmers,

I understand how you feel. I also have only DD, and she has been asking for a baby brother or sister. I would like to have one more but somehow you don't always get what you want in life. So I've learnt to be contented with one child and bring her up the best I can.

But I believe that sometimes having siblings doesn't mean you will be close to them. I know of people who are not close to their siblings, and it's like they are the only child.

And if the only child can have a few close friends in life, it's as good as having siblings. Sometimes, true friends are better than siblings. That's my opinion.

I second ur opinion on friends over siblings.
I do knw of quite a number of friends who are not in good terms with their own flesh n blood and its sad.

But who am I to comment on tht, people would say tht ive never been in tht situation so I wont knw…

Like u, my purpose in life is to equip my DS fully so he wont need to depend on anybody when he faces real life…

Wow...i read this thread and i'm falling in love with it!

I didn't know there's such topic for it and i'm so happy reading it!

I couldn't agree better when our kid kept asking us for another brother/sister and its really dreadful to even answer them the simplest question.

My son is 7yrs old and been asking me when can he have another brother or sister. Sad part he says he's lonely and another saddest part he knew his twin didn't make it to this world 😢

I'm going to be 36 and hubby is turning 40. Saddest part hubby is working overseas and he's only back like 4 or 6mths once or twice a year..so how dreadful it is and how on earth to conceive?! 😢 Chances to have another one is pretty slim with age catching up and also having my son was a challenge 7yrs ago and giving birth to him was another challenge which i nearly lost my life bring him out to this world.

I guess i am really thankful to GOD 🙏 for HE gave me the only ONE child in our life....rather than nothing at all..but i hope HE answer my prayer for me to have another one even tho I hv to risk my life again 😄
