RAD has been around for years and is internationally recognised. CSTD is much newer but they're gaining reputation in Asia. The focus of the two syllabi are slightly different. But for now, I would recommend going for RAD.

My dd trained under RAD syllabus when she was 4 and now she is in Grade 6 level and started to join CSTD grade 6 Pointe last year in order to get onto pointe sooner. I enjoy more while watching RAD during their training as music is more pleasant and that the syllabus is softer and prettier, it is composed to suit the steps not the other way round so it really does flow.

Hm I'm surprised the teacher allowed it. Usually the teacher will let us start pointe whenever we are ready. Changing syllabus to start pointe earlier can be quite dangerous. But of course, if the teacher allowed it, that's fine.

Yes. The teacher has to assess that the student's muscles, feet and legs are strong enough before allowing them to go en pointe.
