What do you mean by don't release the kids? What if we have already booked the tickets?
some schools got interesting post-PSLE activities, some must wait for other siblings to finish exams before the family can go on vacation, some schools very 'ngeow' don't release the kids...i know some who are single child went on one month vacation immediately after PSLE
Right now I'm planning for a vacation around mid OCT for maybe 3 weeks. Do I need to get permission from school first or book and then inform school before leaving? -

officially you can't take the kids out from school without good reasons during term time

But is there any such thing as minimum attendance? So far DS has very good attendance hardly missed one or 2 days for the whole year. But what I mean is, will the holiday we are planning in term 4 cause a serious shortage of attendance? What is the impact of shortage of attendance? -
Hi vk2010, DH is planning a long trip to USA in Dec and we may return to S’pore just before Christmas. DS has gotten COs from RI & HCI but he will be accepting CO from RI. Understand that RI (and all sec schools) will hold their Registration Day one day after S1 posting, which will be some time 3rd week of Dec. May i ask if there is any serious consequence if DS can’t make it home on time to attend the RI Registration Day? DS is very worried (me too) that RI may withdraw his CO and he might not go to his dream school in the end (thanks to his daddy). please advice what DS should do? thanks in advance!

Hi firefly. RI will not withdraw its CO. Don't worry. But it's best if your son could attend registration day as there'll be forms to fill up, briefings etc. -

Actually the registration day though is administrative but is a memorable day for the boys getting to do all the stuff....the boys will have fun getting to see old faces etc etcfirefly38:
