Why not plan before the release results in Nov? I personally believe the kids deserve a break after PSLE, regardless of the outcome of the results and without the worry of school posting....
Thats also a good idea. But then the kids will miss on the last few days they spend in primary school with their friends and teachers.
Immediately after the result is also risky to plan, cannot be sure how the mood will be. So for me best is Dec 1 to Dec 15. After everythng has settled down. If we make reasonable choices of the 6 schools based on the child's Tscore, should get into one of the first three choices. Can go for holiday, tension free. πŸ˜„

For me, I have another P2 child who will be most likely having her SA2 so the best time for both will be 1-2nd week of Dec.

Yes, once the result and sec sch info taken, will be tension free and can enjoy better.

From P6 teacher, PSLE will be earlier this yr, so the result will also be earlier.

some schools got interesting post-PSLE activities, some must wait for other siblings to finish exams before the family can go on vacation, some schools very 'ngeow' don't release the kids...i know some who are single child went on one month vacation immediately after PSLE
What do you mean by don't release the kids? What if we have already booked the tickets?
Right now I'm planning for a vacation around mid OCT for maybe 3 weeks. Do I need to get permission from school first or book and then inform school before leaving?

officially you can't take the kids out from school without good reasons during term time

holidaying is NOT a good reason ... πŸ™‚

But is there any such thing as minimum attendance? So far DS has very good attendance hardly missed one or 2 days for the whole year. But what I mean is, will the holiday we are planning in term 4 cause a serious shortage of attendance? What is the impact of shortage of attendance?
