Alamak, how can compare Christmas Market to our local pasar malam?? Like what verykiasu said, different atmosphere leh. Although most stalls feature either festive foods or traditional handmade handicraft, they are just so, so interesting n beautiful just tolook at. I don't know about others, but I just cannot get enough of Christmas markets. Think your hubby scared you go there n spend $$ lah :lol:christmas markets? my hubby and I were talking abt it just over the weekend.... according to him...who has seen it before years ago...they are like our pasar malam lah...
There are Christmas markets in Paris, but smaller scale than the ones in Cologne n Vienna. I think it's spread out in different locations in the city. Have visited the one in Strausborg (dunno exact spelling).
Must try the mulled wine. I never acquired the taste, though. -

Sharing my own some PERSONAL experience (good or bad)...just my 2 cents, hope can help parents yea. Disclaimer: Your own experience may not be the same hor...
1) Fun on Wheels Skate Camp by Skate With Us
Website: http://skate-with-us.com/swuholidaycamp.html
Personal Thoughts: Oh this is super duper good! Would recommend the full day camps if your kids can tahan cos the half day is only 3 hours. Patient Instructors and I like the fact they got female instructors...big big plus for me! And Really, really small groups! My colleague went to another skate school and she got really irritated cos there was like just 1 coach to like 15 young kids..
Was very surprised that they assigned just 1 person specially for my niece who's 4 and another kid (and she managed to progress from crying baby to stand and skate on her own leh...very proud of her!) Appreciate the fact that the children like it a lot so much so that they kept asking me if they can go for the 4 days camp instead! haiz!
Anyways, basically... the camp is for skaters and non skaters. The kids will learn rollerblade or like advanced fancy rollerblade-ing (like backward blading) if they already know how to blade. The kids also learn how to make a kite, sandcastle plus some other sports like football clinic...they tried inline hockey too..each camp is different activities though...
2) Bakerszin Children Baking Workshop
Website: http://www.bakerzin.com/allaboutkids.html
Personal Thoughts: Together with a few friends and kiasuparents (you know who u are! *Waves*)
Was actually contemplating the Genius are Us versus this one. But ultimately chose this cos of the environment. So a group of us sent our kids there during june. Bakerzin workshop was a bit more costly but the kids love this and me too! Maybe because i like baking, i find it really nice for the children to spend some time learning to bake... I like the whole revolving around kids idea..very nice....but i'm quite cautious about erm...eating what the kids made haha.... oh, the kids also took home a certificate and a very cute kids apron and chef hat! Overall, fun and nice.
3) ChineseWorkshop by Tein-Hsia
Website: http://www.tienhsia.com/promo/promomain.html
My kids are those who hate..hate chinese which is not good at all...so DH decided to send them to this one. It's not too bad and same they have different themes and the trainers try to incorporate kids-interest to chinese. Personally, i would sign them up more for regular lessons cos to learn language need regular exposure...i'm looking at Molin and YuQuan...any feedback from parents? -
