Of course fresh ones will still be better but sometimes cannot find any fresh basil in supermarts so these dried herbs are pretty handy.

I have a couple of basil plants growing in my garden so I just snip off what I need. If buying, I will normally go for sweet basil. Think you can find it more easily in cold storage then in NTUC.

Ur basil plants is sweet basil plant? I noe Bukit Timah NTUC Finest does sell the plant itself.. was looking at it and quite tempted to buy one hm.. but duno whh to buy..

Can also buy from Far East flora. I bought my big pot of Thai Basil & still surviving! They also sell sweet basil & other herbs. Reasonably priced too. Think my Thai basil cost around $4+.

Bought from NTUC. Though I realise, not all NTUC have. So far been able to get it at NTUC finest at Bt Timah and Xtra at AMK Hub. They usually put it together with the chilled kimchi and korean rice cake area.

Gosh, every dish looks delicious! Here is my simple recipe of Aglio Olio to share.

                    Linguine ( a whole packet)
                    Olive oil
                    Prawns(halved)
                    Mushrooms ( canned or fresh)
                    Chilli flakes (i use Masterfoods)
Lemon juice (3 tbs for that tangy taste)
                    Parsley
                    Parmesan
                    Salt

Sauté garlic. Add in prawns and then mushrooms. More olive oil. Toss in the cooked pasta. Sprinkle chilli flakes and lemon juice, parmesan and then
parsley. Salt to taste. Serve with garlic bread or bruschetta.

                    Bon apetit!

I boil it first. Then fry all the ingredients before adding the beads.

Just served that for mid autumn gathering at my place last weekend.
