      Dinah:
Yes, events noted in that handout but early dismissal time and/or whether the gals need to attend sch, are not noted. Right?

Timings are included in the circular given out in Jul.

In response to your queries (which i found on the circular),

      1 Sep (Teachers' Day celebration) : 720 - 11am

6 Oct (Children's day celebration) : no change to dismissal time

11 & 14th Nov : Yes, these are Sch admin days (so students will not need to attend sch)

Hi, need help from parents who have PVed at St Nicks. Has anyone who lived outside of 1km ever applied successfully as a PV?

I am thinking of PVing first and then buy the 1km house just before the registration. Possible?

How is the application as a PV at St Nicks? Must we go through any interview? Pls advise?

          :?:

Hi Cherrygal, iirc, even for Catholic who stayed within 1km, should applicants exceed the vacancy available, they will still have to ballot under 2B. PV doesn’t guarantee anything, just placing you in the earlier phase (2B).

So, best to check with the school.

              hi Cherrygal,

              it's true!

In the event that demand exceeds supply even for < 1km, everyone subjected to balloting! No guarantee, even if you shift <1km. On that ballot day, it's L U C K !

                Hi Cherrygal,

FYI, St. Nics informed me that now parents volunteer have to stay within 1km… I’m like you, I don’t live within 1km and now wondering how… I can’t uproot my family and just move there within the next few months, not with the exorbitant property prices…

Agree jinjinglebells! But luckily I still have a couple of years to go before I need to apply as a PV. But I don't think the prices will come down very much by then.

If u don't uproot now, then you cannot apply as PV which means you can only try for Phase 2C, but even that you have to move within 1km to stand a chance. Get 2nd property?

Plan to rent a place during balloting time first then see how. Can’t afford a place near St. Nics yet and well, what if we really shift there and don’t get in?
