      Hi Musicstar

A combination of induction and gas is good if you are used to seeing the big flames when you cook. Also the chinese wok (black type) cannot be used on induction, as well as some pots (eg:enamel ). If I did not remember wrongly, the vitroceramic ones rather than tempered glass can take higher heat. Havey Norman at Millenea Walk is a good place to see a wide range of such stoves. u see the model u like, then get from one of those smaller retailers which is cheaper…

i saw that taiyo has this induction cooker which the surface will not be hot after cooking. i was amazed by the fast boiling, takes less than 1 min to boiling some water. my only concern is the surface will be easily crack?

I am happy with my Brandt 3-burner induction hob. So far so good. The surface does feel a little hot after being in use, but not hot enough to cause any burns/harm. This is one of the safety features of induction hob, especially useful if you have kids ard the kitchen. Also, the hob emits minimum heat. These features are not limited to the Brandt brand. I believe almost all brands offer similar features.

I like the Teka range. They have a nice green-colored range that goes nicely on a white kitchen top. Unfortunately, their pricing is out of my budget.

oh, Brandt has 3-burner type. Is the plug those big ones which looks like for air-con type? how much is urs?

Sorry, cannot remember the price anymore cos got it from Harvey Norman along with other items. The plug looks pretty normal to me leh 😄

Ya, our assessment was that whether 2 or 4 burner will pose a problem when a family pot and a 28cm chinese wok is in used concurrently. Cannot place them side by side squarely on the burner. My 3 burner has 1 big burner to one side, and 2 smaller ones next to it. However, you gotta take note of the voltage loading of your place.

I still like gas for wok fry so I took a 2 burner induction for the inside kitchen, plus a 2 burner portable gas stove in the outside kitchen.

Hi, not sure if anyone has posted anything on this..

I am thinking of changing my cooker to Induction Cooker. Any feedback from users? Any cons of using induction cooker? Also, are the pots very expensive and very hard to find? I know cost is one factor cos we've got to change the entire set of pots...

Sorry for asking such questions as I'm totally clueless about such stuff... Thks much 😄

I changed to induction cooker 6 months back and I’m loving it. If there’s splatter as I’m cookinf, I can wipe off immediately. Heat is constant. And quick to heat up too with the boost button.

Yes, change of pots is a very costly affair. If you have a thermal pot, that’s still usable on the induction cooker. To test, use a magnet. But otherwise, I changed all my pots & pans. On hindsight now, I should have bought cast iron cookware when I was admiring them last time. No need to change then.

I think it’s quite common to get induction cookware. My mum is also using induction and she didn’t have to change much cookware and she didn’t complain much about the expense either.
