i saw that taiyo has this induction cooker which the surface will not be hot after cooking. i was amazed by the fast boiling, takes less than 1 min to boiling some water. my only concern is the surface will be easily crack?
I am happy with my Brandt 3-burner induction hob. So far so good. The surface does feel a little hot after being in use, but not hot enough to cause any burns/harm. This is one of the safety features of induction hob, especially useful if you have kids ard the kitchen. Also, the hob emits minimum heat. These features are not limited to the Brandt brand. I believe almost all brands offer similar features.
I like the Teka range. They have a nice green-colored range that goes nicely on a white kitchen top. Unfortunately, their pricing is out of my budget. -

Sorry, cannot remember the price anymore cos got it from Harvey Norman along with other items. The plug looks pretty normal to me leh
oh, Brandt has 3-burner type. Is the plug those big ones which looks like for air-con type? how much is urs?bebebub:

Ya, our assessment was that whether 2 or 4 burner will pose a problem when a family pot and a 28cm chinese wok is in used concurrently. Cannot place them side by side squarely on the burner. My 3 burner has 1 big burner to one side, and 2 smaller ones next to it. However, you gotta take note of the voltage loading of your place. -

I still like gas for wok fry so I took a 2 burner induction for the inside kitchen, plus a 2 burner portable gas stove in the outside kitchen. -
any recommendation for induction cooktop? am searching for one but not sure which is good.

Hi, not sure if anyone has posted anything on this..
I am thinking of changing my cooker to Induction Cooker. Any feedback from users? Any cons of using induction cooker? Also, are the pots very expensive and very hard to find? I know cost is one factor cos we've got to change the entire set of pots...
Sorry for asking such questions as I'm totally clueless about such stuff... Thks much

I changed to induction cooker 6 months back and Iโm loving it. If thereโs splatter as Iโm cookinf, I can wipe off immediately. Heat is constant. And quick to heat up too with the boost button.
Yes, change of pots is a very costly affair. If you have a thermal pot, thatโs still usable on the induction cooker. To test, use a magnet. But otherwise, I changed all my pots & pans. On hindsight now, I should have bought cast iron cookware when I was admiring them last time. No need to change then.
I think itโs quite common to get induction cookware. My mum is also using induction and she didnโt have to change much cookware and she didnโt complain much about the expense either. -
Happy Mama:
I'm a happy induction cooker user for the last 5/6 years. I'm not a good cook, just churning out the usual stuff good enough for the family. Some people feel that the 'fire' from induction cooker is not 'strong' enough for Asian cooking. But it's good enough for me :oops:Hi, not sure if anyone has posted anything on this..

Biggest advantage for me is the ease of cleaning. I dun have a helper. And I dun fancy spending an extra minute in the kitchen if I can help it. I like the safety feature of an induction cooker.
Cookware - I use mainly WMF. This set has been with me for the last 5 years. So far, no replacement needed. Many brands in the market carry induction compatible cookware, some brands are more affordable than others.
My only complaint is, happy call pan is not induction compatible :gloomy:
