Ideally, how many kids would you have?

And what if our timeline is up before the child(ren) is/are independent  :offtopic:
So who can be their friend when our deadline is up?daddy2007:
Thus 1 is good enough. Though I think the only child will be lonely. But we can be friends with the child too

Ya, recently someone I know got pregnant before married, and after the initial shock, there was euphoria in the family of being grandparents at 40+...Amazing. -

Same here. We would love to have 2 boys and 2 girls if we can afford to provide them with a reasonable standard of living. Sadly, we can only settle for 2, a boy and a girl. Although we still have to worry about providing for them and having enough for our own needs when we are old, we are very happy to have them and are still counting our blessings everyday for the past 15 years! We do not know how our children will turn out to be one day, but we treasure the time we have with them before they become totally independent and do not need us any more. Children are gifts from God. Those who are childless, not by choice will understand what I mean.If I have a million bucks the bank, I will want 4 kids - 2 boy boy & 2 gal gal.
With ample money, I can be a SAHD and give my best to my children.
Unfortunately I am poor, so I limit myself to only one kid :< -

AWESOME!
I believe that too... except about the poor status. We make ourselves to be poor by how we live our lives.
eg.
Do we go for massive sales at expos?
I gave up on that... cos I believe and I know that the poor spend time to save money, and the rich spend money to save time. It is the time that we use properly will help in getting us richer (in all sense, not only financial)... and the dollars we save are really not very worth the time spent, if you stop to think about it in depth.
