Can anyone advise me where is TAS located and any website? I am looking for an enrichment for my P3 son next year and TAS seem to have a lot of good reviews. Anyone send their child to Learning Point and compare to TAS because Learning point seem to be good also. My son need help on his English Tuition. Thanks a lot!

Both ctrs kid needs to do entry test. For LP, they ONLY take kid that pass their entry test - Kids must have VERY GOOD foundation. Those whom fail the entry test, LP will adv you to appeal or try is again 6 mths later. No harm trying, entry test is FOC but it is quite demoralised when kid cant make it lah...

My friend emailed them asking if she could get the creative writing book. They replied that they used to sell to non TAS parents but now they are going to probably sell it at Popular and one of the terms is that they cannot sell this book elsewhere. So now they only sell this book to TAS parents because their children need it for lessons. If non TAS parents want to buy, they need to wait till Popular stocks it. Not sure when that will be, maybe end of the year.

You are correct. I called them and they do not sell to non TAS students.
Non TAS student only able to get it at Popular. They will launch it by the end of the year.

A bit off topic but if anyone wants a creative writing book, I recommend also the series by Liza Tan. There are quite a few books and I think the compos are all different. There’s one series for P3-4, another for P5-6. One outlet put these under Primary Composition. Another outlet places this under P3 compo, and P5 compo respectively.


DS and I read some of the compos and felt that the standard is there and the compos are nice to read.

My ds is in P6, he used to be in the P5 class in AMK under teacher May-Ann. Now he is also under her at Bukit Timah. He will really listen to her and she is the type of teacher that can win the respect of the naughty students (my boy falls into this category) but also keep them in line. Ds would make sure that
his TAS homework is done, his things filed up, his spelling learnt, she is strict
but somehow can win him. I used to have a headache finding a teacher
for him as he would switch off during the lessons or
not bother to do the homework but he respects and likes this teacher so
I am very happy about that.

She will give me very detailed feedback and ds was telling me that her compo teaching is rather funny, he is able to picture the whole story and make it
funny for the mundane compos because she taught them to use humour for these topics.

There is also another teacher, teacher Joy, that is teaching P5 at AMK. She is good and can teach well. Teacher May-Ann is stricter but teacher Joy is
more the buddy buddy type. So it depends on which teacher suits your child.

Thank you so much for your information. Not too sure whether it is wise to change class. His current P3/P4 teacher is likely to follow up and continue with the class next year at the same time slot.

If your child is fine with the class, then it should be better to continue with the
same class as he knows the teacher already and the classmates? Or you could
let him try another class for one day instead of going for his normal class
and see if he can adapt to that class?
