Anyone attend Hua Cheng at Thomson Plaza? Any comment?

My friend sent her son to Hua Cheng. Said that he liked the teaching there and he has been there since P2, he is now P6.

            Hi Coolit

Thanks. Does your fren son show improvement in Chinese after attending Hua Cheng? I am contemplating whether to switch mine from Berries. Find that Berries is not that drilling. It's like learning through play.

Was wondering if anyone can comment on Chinese enrichment centres around Bishan area in terms of their teaching method, their teachers and effectiveness etc? My ds1 entering P1 soon, and ds2 will be in K2 next year. Around Bishan like quite a few, so don’t know which to choose, eg:

                    - Berries (Bishan CPF Bldg)
                    - Tien Hsia (Bishan CC at St 13)
                    - Eduplus (Bishan St 11 as well as at St 22)
                    - Xue Ni (Shunfu Rd) - though this seemed more inconvenient for us

I saw on Eduplus website, they put up some videos of events they organised. Looks interesting, and if they really have these activities, would encourage children to like Chinese more. But would like a good balance of the more serious stuff too.

What about these that is not too far and quite easy to access by MRT fr Bishan:
                    - Hua (United Sq)
                    - Han (they seemed to have quite a number of branches, eg YCK cc, AMK Hub, Toa Payoh West cc)
                    - Skylace (Funan DigitaLife Mall)

I visited Jiang, but I think the environment is a big minus to me, plus I think 3 hr class for my P1 boy too tiring and put him off even before he begins!

                      hi

my elder boy attended Berries but at Bukit Batok since he was in K2. He is in Pri 3 now. My younger one in K1 now, starts Berries this yr.
I would said Berries is good cos they "made" my kids who dun noe many chinese words or speak chinese to someone who can speak and write and read. Altho’ the kids are not fanastically good in chinese but at least, Berries help them to "remove" the dislike for chinese. Plus point is my kids like to attend the Berries classes.
But I am not sure wht other Berries centers are good but the one at Bukit Batok has good teachers and good admin support.

My elder one is also attending a chinese and compreh class in Han Lanuage CCK. As this is his 2nd lesson, I cant comment yet. I was impressed that the teacher is able to tell us my elder boy’s character at lesson 2. That shows she is observant…

                      Hope this helps!

Hi parents, can anyone recommend or know of a tutor who conducts Chinese enrichment for small groups in the Marine Parade area? It is for my 5 year old daughter. She does not like tuition centers as the groups are quite big and she is shy.

                        Thanks in advance!
