DUDU:
Hi VT, did the school ask for your child's results? How is qihua school? Are Teachers good and caring? How about the Qihua school programs? I heard admiralty is strong in academic.
Hi Dudu,
I just posted under networking - Qihua..
So far my daughter's experience is not bad.. She is in P2 now..
When she first joined P1 beg of 2010, she joined a chinese program called ' åå„ę\" where they learn chinese computer class.. Being a 'jiak kangtang' girl like her, managed to get into Higher chinese because of this and I find that her chinese Language has improved a lot.. They also select those good in EL ( i think 2 in a class) to take up extra lesson in EL under Little Red Dot, APEX now. She likes her school very much.. hope she can be happy in school.. enjoy herself while learning...
Oh ya.. the school did not ask for her results.. where is your kid now? Also P3? In fact my girl does not want to change school as she loves Qi hua now..that's why i am trying to find out how good is Admiralty.. is it because the high population in that area only? i am not sure...
I guess we will let her stay put.. since Admiralty is not the top 20 school in Singapore... cheers.. -
Hi VT. thanks for your info. my kid will be going to primary one next year. How is the holistic program different from other school? Moe website mentioned about PERI holistic program in qihua and other 15 schools included nanyang and st Hilda. Is your child taking third language that the school offer? How about maths standard in the school. Any Olympic maths training for lower primary?

Hi Parents,
I believe Si Ling used to be called Marsiling Pr Sch and is the 'oldes' sch in Marsiling/Woodlands area. Woodlands Pr Sch is the second one and has been in Woodlands since about 35 yrs ago, though shifted fm one part of Woodlands to another. Why do I know? B cos I was fm Woodlands Pri Sch
However, I do not know the standard of the school now
sorry, you've got the wrong info.
Marsiling Pri was up on the hills area, when Woodlands primary was some minutes away, down the hill, back in 1983. Si Ling primary was at the old market area, Marsiling lane there.
I ought to know because I was in primary school at that time and I mixed with children from both Marsiling and Si Ling primary.
Siling primary's uniform has always been brown, from what I recall.
(Unless change now)
Marsiling primary's dark blue pinaform style and shifted to beside Fuchun Primary, just minutes from Marsiling mrt. But I don't know if Fuchun Primary is relocated. -

The principal was from Evergreen Primary. The PSLE performance at Si Ling varies quite largely each year, it just happens this year the top student was really exceptional and did very very well. If i'm not wrong, the scores of the top 1 or 2 classes to the scores of the other classes - there is quite a big gap.wamandas:
I have a daughter studying in Si Ling Primary School and she just got her PSLE results. The school performance is generally quite good and better than woodgrove. My daughter is in the best class and the whole class achieve a's/a*'s in all subjects except Science as one of her classmates attained a b. The highest PSLE score is 274 and the principal is from Woodgrove Primary. Not that stressed there and the teachers are very caring. They even had the Adam Khoo Camp for free this year to motivate them. Generally a good school!

Hi Linda,
I am planning for my son P1 in 2 years time. I stay in Woodlands. May I know more about Si Ling Primary School? Seems like the popularity is not high for this school. Do you have any idea why? Or do you find Si Ling is absolutely a good school? Thanks for your advice.
The teachers there are very caring and good, the school has some good programs. If your kid is smart, then go what school also no problem cos the teachers allocated to good classes are always v gd. I think one of the reasons its not a very popular school is because of the profile of the students who are there, many come from less-advantaged backgrounds, as well as many from malaysia. (I'm not saying malaysians are lousy, most are smart, just that they make up quite a large proportion)
if you were to look at this site, http://www.channeleducation.com.sg/2010-Primary-Schools-Ranking-in-Singapore.php, Si Ling is one of the lower tier schools, even though the top psle score was top 20.
but it's location is good. Very short distance walk to Civics centre/causeway point.
I was a student from that cohort but at pri 3 I migrated...
If you are referring to 2010 si ling pri schl's p6 batch then coincidentally thats the one... I was classmates with all the top pupils of the 2010 batch in p1, p2, p3 . The top pupil was my friend Kamal Hariz who scored an agg. of 275. If I'm not mistaken it is the highest agg. recorded in that school. Personally, I feel that school is pretty good, considering that it is just a neighbourhood pri schl. Hope this helps

??? Si Ling primary 's current principal was from Greenwood primary

Oops, sorry, got it wrong about Si Ling. But during my time (long time ago), there was no Si Ling in that area, only Marsiling and Woodlands. Now, there are so many schools now  .Atan:

Hi Parents,
Iām so pleased to find this forum and this thread to discuss about the upcoming P1 registration for 2013 intake! My son, born in end of 2006, is going to go for P1 next year, and I think we are under 2B.
We stay in Admiralty (near Woodlands area), and we are looking at Admiralty Primary school. My husband has just finished the PV of 40 hours, and we stayed around 1km (not so sure about it).
Anyone can advise, how is the registration balloting status in this area? Will appreciate your help!
