I often see long queue at the cuttlefish kangkong stall, so one day I went to queue. Really queue for a long time, stand until legs ached. πŸ˜‰

In the end, don't really like the food as i found it \"too sweet\" to my liking.

any recommendation of which Malay satay stall to zero in at Lagoon? πŸ˜„

        tankee,

Don't know if Haron satay stall still ard in lagoon. Used to be very popular more than 20 yrs ago.

I have eaten Haron's satay for the past 3 times when I was there and carved for satay.

the satay is nice, a little on the sweet side.

the gravy is ok, just the right thickness, but personally, a little too fine for me. I prefer crunchier gravy.

        overall, not bad.

        :thankyou: for a good recommendation.

ended up trying the stall in the hawker center :skeptical:

any one know where they have shifted to or know where else got sell good mee chiang kuay in bedok \\ marine parade area?

            hi cantbearit2,

i like Blk 85 FengShan's Chan BBQ stingray and sotong.. and the peanut soup.. and the pork porridge.. and the 五香..

but my HB say Chan BBQ dun taste as nice as they used to.. so we seldom go there now..

Chan BBQ change ppl liao, no good already. I dun go there anymore. Now i rather go blk 511 MM BBQ.

They have not change and they are as good as before. The Chilli is still the same. I still eat at Chan BBQ very often. πŸ™‚

Just saw your post and you are welcome. Didn't know you went ahead and tried Haron.

Yup I know what you mean about the gravy. Have you managed to find one to your satisfaction?? Can recommend??

Not yet. It will probably take a while as I seldom eat satay. Very fattening you know  😒 😒

                    So far can't find any.
If you like the white type (not the black herbal type), you can try this brand- ILC bak ku teh. Just boil it with water, bak kut, 10 cloves of garlic, some button canned mushrooms and eat it with rice, kiam chye and you char kway.
                    Its wonderful!
