2012 P1 orientation would be held on 19 Nov. The date coincides with my gal’s K2 graduation concert. The school informed me that the orientation is rather important and should not be missed and has asked me to consider giving up going to the concert. I would not want my gal to miss the K2 concert as that would be her last performance with her beloved classmates/buddies. I am torn as I wouldn’t want us to miss either. My original intent is for her to make some new friends in class during the orientation so that she would not feel lost during her initial stage in school.

Do anyone of you have any constructive advise for me?
      Thx in advance.

Wow! That’s a tough situation. Am sure u’ve already considered things like the timings of the 2 events n if u could somehow do both.

Perhaps hubby can cover at the school orientation while u rush her back soon after her performance.
If the school has a dress rehearsal perhaps u could check with her kindy if she can perform only in the rehearsal but not on concert day. As a last resort. That way she gets to perform, u get all the photo’s for memory.

Thx for your advise, Genie23. My gal has really wanted to attend the k2 concert. I guess I would either get someone’s help to attend the orientation or go with your suggestion to have either my hubby or I to go for the orientation.

If there is any 2012 P1 parents here, kindly share the orientation notes after you have attended. (just in case there is missed out info from my source)
          Thx!

First of all, Big Welcome to CHIJKCP!

Last year P1 orientation was held in the morning. First you will bring your gal to their respective classroom and leave them there to mingle with new friends. Then parents proceed to the hall to listen to the principal short talk. After the talk registration will start... After registration, go back to the class to meet the form teacher and pay school fees and etc... Bring cash. As for books no worries, you can always order in advance and pick up later. Then bring your gal to buy uniforms and PE tees n shorts.

Lastly, it will be great if you could also join the school Parents Volunteer Group. Your gals will be excited and thrilled to see you in school now and then.

My girl is going to P2 next year and she loves going to CHIJKCP! :rahrah:
              God Bless!

genie23, you are welcome! You can purchase school uniforms on the every first Thursday of the month except June. 115pm-315pm for parents. If you fetching your gal by car at Martia Road, to avoid the traffic jam, best to come at 140pm Mon to Thurs, 2pm on Fridays as school ends at 140pm.

                  (^ ^)

                    Hi nanamama,

                    Thks for your sharing:-)
What time must the gals be in school everyday? Besides the one-time orientation, are there other activities that the new P1 gals must attend before the new school term start?

Hi lolli! You are welcome! School starts from 740am, most of the gals will reached by 720am. The P1s only need to be in school on the orientation day.
