      Hi

Does anyone have any internet links to a list of key vocabulary words for P5, P6, S1 and S2, please?

I have never heard of english key words for upper primary school. Only for pre-primary level. I would be very surprise if there is.

Just read loads and loads of books. Do read books that are of the same level or higher.

Neither have I. From what I know, kids have to learn common sight words for lower primary but not for upper primary. Best method is to read for vocab.

              Hi

What what I know, sight words are also called Dolch words because some of them can’t be sounded out, and need to be learned by sight. Dolch word lists the 220 most common words used and 95 nouns. They provide a good base for reading at an early age.

My godson is currently learning them as part of his curriculum an English enrichment centre.

                Hi, TAS:

I have following question about changing direct speech to indirect speech.

Paul said, "I went to church yesterday."
Paul said that he had gone to church the previous day/the day before.

Which phrase should be used? My daughter’s teacher said that they had to use the ‘the previous day’. But I believe we can use either one. Am I correct?

The teacher is correct. We used to learn either one is accepted. Starting from a few years ago, \"the day before\" is no longer allowed. There are many assessment books still using \"the day before\".
