Mr Xu told me 10-12h. I gathered that's fine. Same no. of hours as Mr Meeky Yang's, I think. Same rate as yours. He sounded friendly.

Hi godiva, his rate is expensive because he's driving a Volkswagon van that can seat up to 8 persons. It's TWD5,000 for 10 hours.

When I called Mr Xu, there were a lot of noise disturbance, so couldn’t talk long on places to visit & no. of hours. I told him I am staying at YMCA and he asked for my HP no. & no. of people, and to call him when I reached TPE to make sure I arrived, that’s all.

Similar experience here... the reception was not that clear but was still ok. He was busy (perhaps driving), so he asked if he could call me back later. And he did The itinerary wise, i think we need not worry, cos those places are pretty 'standard'. However, if you have a particular place you want to go, I would suggest you to ask him at the start of the trip. FYI I also just briefly mentioned jiufen, jinguashi areas to him (cos I was conscious of the fact that he was the one calling me back and paying for the long distance call, so I'd better not take too long). He also asked me to call him when I reach tw, so that we can arrange what time to meet at the hotel on the day of day trip.
