Club Breastfeeding Mums

My DS1 does not like the pacifier. In fact, he spat it out when the confinement nanny tried to give him during the first weeks at night. She was shoving the pacifier into his mouth when he cried but he did not like it. When she told me not to worry, he would LOVE it soon, just need to be persistent in giving it to him, I was like WHAT? After about 2 weeks of confinement, I took the night shift myself and BF him whenever he wakes up so no pacifier. In fact with my DS1, I was the pacifier since I held and let him suckle so much…
Now with my DS2, the suckling is not so much since he does not seem to want to BF much, only about 3 hourly. But he would suck his own knuckles until you can hear the sucking sounds. We guess this BB would love the pacifier but no, we are not giving it to him. In fact, I got to force him not to suck his own knuckles sometimes when I BF him! Yes, for DS2, we are feeding him formula milk just before he sleeps so that he will feel full and can sleep longer. Otherwise, he will really wake up quite frequently and this is not what I want since both of us will not get a good night’s sleep!
As for co-sleeping, DS1 slept with us once he grew out of the portable Combi rocking bed/chair and has been there since. I will try to put DS2 into the cot, see how he will take to it then decide! -
Hi Mummies, Any working mum here around raffles place? I am likely to pop in a month; and I am desparately looking for places where i can express during the working hours. Unfortunately my work place doesnt have one and I am finding places. Please please advise. Many Thanks.

Hi Nicole, Sadly the meeting rooms are overly booked and checked with HR, although the bank has 2 towers but no nursing rooms. I dont want to do it in washrooms - also they dont have any sockets.Yes...i agree....3 of them co-sleep w me during bb time....easier for me to feed and comfort them when they need me..

Is there a pantry you can use? Or if you are thick-skinned enough, surrounded by understanding (preferably female) colleagues, and work at your own cubicle, why not consider pumping at your desk? I had friends do that, and I've had to do it when the meeting rooms were fully booked. Just use a shawl, or nursing cover to cover-up, and put your pump into a drawer to mask the sound.

We practise co-sleeping too. Baby used to sleep in cot but once able to stand upright, he is bawling and trying to climb out of cot every night. Tried out the cry it out method and after three nights when he cried himself hoarse, I gave up. Now I'm used to the co-sleeping arrangement and it's much more convenient for bf. He still wakes up for night feeds though.
Of course, there are other schools of thought, which do not recommend co-sleeping or nursing at night. I didn't feel comfortable with these views. But some of my friends swear by these approaches. I think each family needs to find a path which They are most comfortable with, and be consistent with it. -

Hi. Do you intend to put your kid at an infant care centre? Some infant care centres let breastfeeding mommies express milk at the infant care or feed baby there during lunchtime. Perhaps you can explore these avenues if you intend to put your child at infant care.
