CHS and Rosyth have traditionally been very โ€˜hotโ€™ schools. Going under P2C is already scary even if you are living in the next block. Would advise you to consider carefully becos after 2C, whatโ€™s left.

I think even in phase 2B for Bukit Panjang Pri for this year need to ballot for those staying 1-2km.

for 2B - i believe (PV + <1km) - should be quite safe. perhaps you can try to shift nearer, to increase your chance(s).

anything > 1km is hard to say, risky subjective to .... demand vs. available vacancies.

            6 years very fast!
if choose Rosyth - 6 years later still need to find a Secondary school for your son.

coming from K2 kindergarten right into P1, you do not know where you child stands academically, amongst his peers.

between CHS & Rosyth, i feel CHS is a better choice because has got good affliated Secondary school. CHS Secondary won outstanding, excellent Character development award plus some other sustainable school awards (refer no. 10):-

            http://www.moe.gov.sg/media/press/files/2011/moa-annex-f1.pdf
CHS still remains at band 1.
able to get into CHS is like buying yourself an insurance policy for the next 10 years.

at 2C < 1km - both CHS & Rosyth are extreme hot, popular favorites by many parents. Try to retrieve, dig out past 5 to 7 years of balloting data.
Compare which school has higher number of times over-subscribed, at phase 2C ?

            think of the consquences ....

            a)

if you shift to Bishan & really lucky to ballot into CHS, Congratuations!
but if not, what's next ? At 2C Supp, not much choice except Guangyang:-
are you mentally prepared to accept Guangyang ?

how was phase 2C 2011 balloting for schools in Bishan area ?

            b)

if you shift to Serangoon & manage to get into Rosyth, Congratuations!
but if not, what's next ? At 2C Supp, only Zhonghua is left.
is this acceptable to you ?

if you're choosing a primary school for your child to study for the next 10 years that is affliated to a Secondary school, it's like buying insurance for next 10 years

              example:
              =======
the CHIJ family, MGS, PLMGS, Maris Stella, ACS, SCGS, Gan Eng Seng, Holy Innocent, St Gabriel, St Margaret, St Hilda, Nan Hua, Nan Chiau, etc.
              - you may see how MOE rank the Secondary affliated schools:-

If I m not wrong, Gan Eng Seng, Nanhua & Nanchiau Primary are not affiliated to Gan Eng Seng & Nanhua Sec.

I hope don't change for phase 2A. :xedfingers:
I hope they change the Phase 2A1 and 2 criteria.

For ex-siblings and parents who attended that school, who hasn't contributed since leaving, why should they have any privilege?

For those who live within 1km of a school, they should have priority over everyone else!

That might sound selfish, but it's true, we will have less cars on the road if parents were able to walk their kids to school instead of driving or taking the bus.

Less stress dealing with traffic and more exercise for all!

                        Win-win-win!
