wanna ask experts here… is the frosting for cupcake can be use on cake? the recipe i have is to use unsalted butter, cream it with icing sugar… then add vanilla essence… then beat some more till the texture is right… any idea if this will work on normal cake(round/square)…

200 g full cream evaporated milk

Funz, sorry if this was raised before. I read the posts earlier, but don't remember now if this question was asked previously. Can we replace evaporated milk with fresh milk?

I think should not be that much of a problem. I did not replace but cos I ran out of evaporated milk, I topped up with fresh milk.

The cake may not be as rich but no issues. This recipe is very forgiving.

With milo, you will not get that rich chocolatey taste. Go to the baking needs section of NTUC, they will have cocoa powder there. I usually buy Hersheys cocoa powder.

Funz, you must be a good baker. The recipe you provided seems like the cake sold in kedai kue kue, their steamed chocolate cake. I wonder the taste would be richer if you use condensed milk instead of sugar? Is it still that forgiving in this recipe?
