      Hi,

Anyone owns a Laura star ironing system?
I am contemplating whether is it worth the $$$ to spend on such an expensive iron. I am thinking of getting the S4 which comes with the fan. It supposedly makes ironing easier and faster and can be used on delicate materials like silk or even sequins.
      Anyone who have any feedbacks?

Ironing is a breeze with Laurastar. There’s some maintenance to it though eg. draining water from water tank periodically, filter change if used, clean out dust/lint from bottom of board.

I can’t remember what model mine is but I do have a motor fan on the ironing board itself to help buff up the board cover for easy ironing. It takes me about 2.5 mins per collared working shirt. Good system IMO.

            Dasalo,

I just tried out my Laura star S4. Boy! is ironing a breeze!!! I am not sure if my ironing is faster but i find the whole ironing chore is quite effortless.
Previously i hated ironing 100% cotton shirt. Somehow it is quite difficult to iron out the crease, especially so since i use a dryer. Surprisingly, no problem with Laura star at all!!!
Now awaiting for the person from Laura star to demo on how to use the iron properly.

Congrats to your new purchase. I like the fact that the crease does not comes back after ironing like normal iron do (don't know if you notice), the shirt will look \"limp\" with normal iron but with LS, the shirt stays crisp. The only thing I dislike is the lint collected over time at the base of the board which is quite difficult to get rid of unless you have a powerful blower. My rainbow vacuum did not help. Share if you have any clue.

I am contemplating getting one too! It's quite expensive right? Not sure if worth it to get for my maid to iron as I am not the one ironing. Hmmmmm....

                Also, how to decide between a S4 and a S7..... :?

If maid ironing, you have to ask yourself how much you pamper your maid. Previously when I had maids, on average they wear off my iron once a year no matter how cheap or expensive the iron is. I usually buy mid range pricing $70-100 (that's 5-10 years ago) those days, they were considered good iron.

                    Dasalo,

I have check with the person from Laura Star abt your lint issue. She suggested using a cotton bud to go thru each hole. Sounds tedious but she says it is actually quite easy and fast. Give it and try and let me know.
So far i am very satisfied with my iron. Some how ironing doesn't feel so tiring now. I know what u mean abt the shirt looking limp. However, the person i/c did mention if u steam too much, will have the same problem.
She gave the analogy of frying bee hoon with too much water... 😂

Thanks for the tips and I’ve tried. It is indeed tedious.

Does anyone have the basic system G-2 Steamax? Is it just as good? I don't like bulky stuff so the full ironing system will not suit my needs. 🤷
